funny.... how indians comment on interior issues of bd.

Few Pakistanis are commenting as well, do find them funny as well???

I was praising Hasina for she did something good for her people. The allocation of that house by military rulers for lifetime was illegal.

This dalal attorney general and chief justice of supreme court is Al slave. Nothing will go against Hasina. This house will be broken down just because it is belong to Zia family. Al was brought to power by it's Hindu masters and ghaddar moin to demise nationalist and Islamic forces BUT....:sniper:

And at those who are asking Indians to stay out -- this is an open forum so don't expect a particular community to stay out of a discussion, specially when you're making sly innuendos to that particular community.

Take your discussion to your bedroom if you feel so touchy and sensitive.

This thread needs to be closed. Khaleda leaving a luxurious mansion is not a big deal. She has enough money to build 10 of them in Gulshan.

Besides, if you love Zia, don't associate Zia's name with this controversial house ownership. Zia would NEVER EVER accept a government house for 1 taka after retirement.
Marrying Begum Khaleda was the biggest mistake of his life. And now he has sons as dumb as Khaleda herself. No wonder why he rejected the board's offer to have them automatically pass SSC/HSC. He despised his family.

Yes quite correct. Its as if Hasina is a Chief Minister of an Indian State and these Indians have to support her.

Well, Shekh Hasina happens to be leader of a sovereign Republic of Bangla Desh. And you, Munshi Babu; lead which country, state, district, municipality or panchayat?

Bangladesh's opposition lawmakers may resign from parliament

Dhaka, Nov 20 (IANS) The lawmakers of the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) may resign en masse from parliament to force mid-term polls, media reports said Saturday.

Leader of the opposition and former prime minister Khaleda Zia has vowed to resume agitation against the government of her arch rival Sheikh Hasina. She said the government has failed to deliver to the people and was continuing in power 'with the help of foreign powers'.

Analysts say if the Zia-led BNP gets its lawmakers to resign, its ally Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), is bound to follow suit. The party is already building up for confrontation with the government, they said.

Top Jamaat leaders are currently in jail on charges of 'war crimes', for targeting unarmed civilians during the 1971 liberation movement.

The New Age newspaper quoting party sources said that the BNP lawmakers could resign before they lose the membership of parliament because of their absence from parliament for 90 days. Zia and her allies have been boycotting parliament.

A hardcore group within the BNP, led by senior lawmaker Salahuddin Qader Chowdhury and close to the Jamaat, is pressuring the leadership for hard options, the Daily Star said.

The government is already being criticised for its 'crude' handling of eviction of Zia from her government-owned house.

The ruling Awami League circles say Zia and her lawyers are bent on drawing political mileage by playing on emotions of the people on this issue.

'I am homeless,' Zia told the media four days after she was evicted from her house. She had urged people during Eid celebrations to pray for her.

The ruling party say Zia's lawyers deliberately did not prefer an appeal for stay of the execution of the High Court order to vacate the house after expiry of the deadline Nov 12.

Zia's top legal advisor and former law minister Moudud Ahmed said the eviction issue would be 'sorted out on Rajpath' (on the streets).

Zia and her supporters have already taken to the streets on a number of issues, including Hasina's signing of five agreements with India in January

Jamaat threatens movement too

Rangpur, Nov 20 (bdnews24.com) – Jamaat-e-Islami has threatened to unseat the government through a tough movement on the streets.

"The government will soon be unseated. The four-party alliance will wage a tough movement jointly in a bid to save the country," said ATM Azharul Islam, Jamaat's acting secretary general at a meeting in Rangpur on Saturday.

Moreover, he urged the leaders and activists of Jamaat and its front organisations to prepare in this regard.

"The government has failed in all sectors. People have no confidence in this government. They are ineffective and incompetent. No country can run like this," the acting Jamaat leader alleged.

Earlier on Friday, BNP secretary general Khandakar Delwar Hossain said that BNP would soon launch a movement against the government to save the country, urging everyone to join.

Just one day later, Jamaat, also the main ally of the BNP-led alliance, threatened tough all-out movement to unseat the ruling Awami League-led government in line with BNP's threat.

Awami League general secretary and local government, rural development (LGRD) minister Syed Ashraful Islam on Friday said the main opposition has to bring a no-confidence motion against the government in parliament in order to overthrow the current ruling party.

That, of course, is a remote possibility given the fact that the BNP has just 35 members in the 345-seat parliament, which falls far short of the two-thirds majority required to unseat a government through no-confidence motion.

Ashraful said if BNP claims to be a democratic party, it should follow democratic norms. "Any sort of violence in the name of anti-government movement will not be tolerated," he threatened its main opposition.

Jamaat leader Azharul in the meeting demanded immediate release of its top five leaders arrested on charges of their alleged involvement in war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Azharul also called on its leaders and activists to participate spontaneously in all the protest programmes of BNP in protest of Khaleda's eviction from her cantonment residence.
