For past several years since I started to research on defence and security matters one things which blows away my mind is Police sticking to that infamous crap non ac DALA. Why not use more and more Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic and other such sedans and SUV. Police Car should have AC. You expect a Policeman to stay normal and do patrolling in that infamous dala which has no AC for 12 hours. Also why on earth Police Stations don't have car parking plazas in them. Police Station should be on 15 canal area at least with a 3 to 4 canal dedicated for a parking plaza.

Hilux's go everywhere while cars don't. Hilux carries more troops, has a better suspension than car, has good ground clearance when loaded with troops, can get an LMG installed on it, usually is diesel with more torque for pulling, can ram obstacles and provide more firing angles with 360 degrees look out and coverage

First of all for Patrolling cars are needed secondly this culture of 6 POLICEMAN in a single patrolling car needs to end two or maximum 3 should be in a patrolling car. And trust me Corrolla and CR X of Toyota will do the job fine

Only POLICE special forces should be 6 to 8 in a single car and that should be an Armored vechile

Better investigation procedures, sophisticated equipment, more public friendly protocols are needed. Moreover, Police should should be deployed to give services to the public, instead of providing security to VIP's, since there is a non ending list of VIP's, VVIP's, VVVIP's. "Thana culture" should end. Corruption as well as "dealings" on streets and inside police offices should end. The process of entering FIR's should be made easier and clearer for all types of public.

So do SUVS, plus they are fuel efficient. Look at the Ford explorer

same here in india as well...only much more money is there to be looted...apart from stealing things from public...police have been caught running prostitution rackets...directly running gangs...supplying girls to VIPS...selling drugs...extra judicial killings although no one has been caught in my state yet...tamil nadu police has a unique way of knocking off criminals though...they support one guy and give him assignments to kill all the criminals in the region one by one and after some time they kill the don who helped them kill off crime in the region as well.

Toyota Corolla is being used by Police Response Unit PRU Lahore, Islamabad Police and Motorway Police but not Bulletproof cars (should be bulletproof)

They main thing is the budget allocation which seriously needs to be increased so that police can buy these cars + other equipment also reforms are badly needed and their salaries are need to be increased so that bribery can be ended

i don't even like to play my broken record anymore, it is waste of time & energy.

Before we improve the equipment, we need to improve the System, Culture & the attitude, only then we can think about providing the accessories and equipment.

It's not a matter of ability but a matter of will. The Army uses pretty much the same vehicles in challenging terrain across the country but is successful, why? Because of its willingness. The Police force is unfortunately corrupt/incapable to the core and is underfinanced/Ill trained. The Police needs to be brought up to a higher standard by more finanvial investment/ better training incl physical/tactical as well as moral/ethical and most problems will be resolved greatly.
