PN to acquire twin engine jet aircraft - Tender

As per my understanding [which could go wrong] the aim is to achieve early detection of Indian SLBM capable submarine well beyond the extended EEZ of Pakistan which is ~650 KM, as of now Arihant class is capable to launch +1500 KM K-15 missile, therefore speed and on station time would be among the most important features in choice of Jet powered aircraft for anti-submarine role

any more detail, offer was made to which country ..... ?? I would like to read further about it so if possible plz post links or source related to this offer .... thnx in advance ...

K-15 has only 750 km range.
The K-4 they are trying to make, will have longer range.

PAC has its own turboprop aircraft in the works, but I think with the LRMPA the PN wants something that can sustain a heavier payload (esp. for ASCM), hence the jet. In fact, even Saab's turboprop Swordfish MPA was more of an ISR and light ASW platform, while the jet (Bomardier Global 6000) had AShW capabilities.

When Saab was closing down the manufacturing, they were willing to selling entire TOT. I do not recall exactly where i think it was janes and another defence journal; they found no buyers.

That would make sense in terms of payload requirements.

Bombardier also sold its Dash 8 line for $300 M. Granted, it's not ToT per se, but it gives an idea of how much it could cost to transfer IP and ownership (within the same country).

Main thing is pn need sub launch ssm with range greater then baber 3 current under 700 km to hit way up north ...

This is more Important for conventional rather then non conventional ssm for now baber 3 will deter

lastly need stand off anti sub capacity at least 100 plus km which 054a is bring in the form of Asroc

.
Only two realistic options are from Boeing or Airbus. Given the secondary role as a transport that is clearly mentioned in the report, any small business class jet is out of the running.

Seriously? These LRMPAs are for defensive ops and not offensive ops. They will be operated within territorial waters of Pakistan to hunt enemy subs etc. Pakistan has recently had an extension of its sea bed reach by 600kms into the Arabian Ocean. So if any enemy jets or SAM comes near it, it’ll be an act of war and besides Pakistan land and sea territory is already covered with radar coverage in case of enemy intrusion by air. Hope this clears your cloud?

If I were guessing (and I am) about the intention of PN with this tender here, I think you guys are absolutely right. A jet can fly (these are just generic numbers) higher by about 5000 m. This basically means a ZDK-03 can detect a surface vessel at 400 km and Bombardier Global 6000 (equipped with appropriate sensors) can detect a surface vessel at 500 km. This is simply due to the curvature of Earth. Furthermore, a jet can fly around 30% faster so it can take off from the coast and reach further, faster, and return. This requirement may be in part an effort to achieve "eyes" to complement the range of our "arms" (Zarb or upcoming longer range versions or Azmat launched CMs). A jet will be much more survivable in conflict because it can afford to fly further inland and do short-fast darts south when the range of the eyes is absolutely needed. That's just my guess.

What about our ATR 72s?

Asroc has 100km+ range? Also Type 054A/P can detect and lock sub at 100+km?
