PM wants fighter base at Cox's Bazaar airport

It's nice to see you r admitting your stupidity but it will be even nicer if you stop bablering like 'Sagaler tin number Baccha'. Now let me ask you- self proclaimed stupid, where in the thread I have deviated from the core of the topic?
A stupid and blind like me can also see how you try to derail most of the threads to preach your illogical Jamaati formula. Do not try to spread false political rumour in every thread. Since you are a self-proclaimed wise man, therefore, send logical viewpoints.

Did I boast my wise ego by calling you Awamy dalal/sheikastakhor? And where did your blabbering stop logically? Infect it was in the absentia in almost all your posts, so go get your 'Definition of logic' fixed before lecturing others.

Do you need any certification from a stupid poster like me to prove you are wise? You yourself have certified yourself what you are by sticking to one-track mind. It is just a discussion forum and is not a govt decision-making body.

People should have open mind here to make a fruitful discussion with others. But, you love to quarrel like a woman. Grow up and before you grow up better be a man first. Also, stick to the topic. But, do not worry, you have already derailed this thread.

"Pagole Kina Bole,
Aar Sagole Kina Khay?"

Now, Listen to this very carefully, between true and lie, there isn't any middle ground for me to be open minded. If you want to pursue twisting, turning arts then I can provide the address of 'Hemayatpur Pagla Garadh' for you to be as much open minded as you want over there just to create gray areas.

And you comparing me with a quarrelling woman don’t surprise me since the intellectual level of a metaphoric "Sagoler Tin Number Baccha" can't be as equal as Homo sapience. So, get it in your head that derailment isn't what is beyond Prothom or Daily Lie types of dissemination on Tariq sitting on TK 14, 000 CRORE or BNP's proverbial thievery of TK, 20, 000 CRORE from electric-ministry rather it’s more logical since it will only help to take the deceptive lie/mask off.

BTW, for the last time I'll make myself a fool by trying to be nice with you and then ask Almighty for forgiveness.

It didn't pass even 3 days but my prediction already became true,

Look at how the trade war started with dragon,

U.S. to Impose Tariff on Chinese Tires - WSJ.com

And Dragon's responses,

China files WTO complaint on US tire tariffs - Yahoo! News

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/14/business/global/14trade.html

Now, please go and try to find out if this scenario replicates U.S-JP's trade war before the actual one of WW11. And if you let one of the warring parties to test bate your land, AB would it come to range of the retaliation of the other? Go, figure.

Our military generals are aware of the war mongers in Burma. If BD is attacked by a big country like India, all the countries of the world will side with BD and will do India-bashing. However, if war breaks out with Burma and if BD loses, then it will lose its face throughout the world. Nobdy likes a weak nation that loses battle against a smaller nation. We will become the laughing stock of the world.

Considering this, I think the generals made a bold decision to build a forward airforce base in Cox's Bazaar. We have to understand that we have a disputed territory in the Bay of Bengal near Burma. Burma is waiting there to steal our wealth by force. India or Burma, an enemy is an enemy. We cannot, therefore, afford to lose sight of Burmese military buildup in our vicinity, where may lie a $200 billion worth of oil and gas.

Exactly Watch. You do need at least a stable military with minimum deterrence that can scare off brumese generals and i dont think BD will have to spend a lot to keep Burmese Army away from its borders.A strong economy must be backed with strong military.

Just want to point out quality of your understanding in geo strategic matter. Your statement is not only far off its out right laughable. I will just leave it that.

I do not see symptoms of an IMMEDIATE Indian attack, but I can see a very possible conflict with Burma in the near future. Burmese guns do not shoot flowers, but bullets. Burma is preparing for a showdown. If we are unprepared, then they will take hold of the sea territory from where they were expelled last year.

Moreover, even if there is a showdown with India, it will be in the Bay of Bengal, where BD wealth territories and sea routes lie. An Indian attack will be accompanied by a naval blockade. A naval blockade will cut off our exports to the world. BD economy will be choked into ruins. So, considering all the aspects, it is necessary that a forward air base be built in Cox's Bazaar. This airbase can support all our naval activities during war time.

Again EW BRO, you are trying to beat a dead horse over here. I have rationalized the macro level of the issue whereas you are bringing silly concerns in the lime light again. Now let me explain, why timing, logistic and motive of BD-BURMESE stand off haven't been correlating with either of the countries interest. First off, Burmese has been exploring oil & gas on equity basis for quite sometimes and illegal FUA/MUA's war drumming incident has frankly surprised them. Secondly, the timing of it had correlated with 'Election Engineering' in favor of BAL while keeping BNP walas at bay. And finally COX BAZAR is only 96 miles from CTG by land and from Zahurul Base, Patenga it is even closer. So, hypothetically even a Mig-29 takes off from Zahurul base to thwart intruding Burmese jet, it would take only around 10-12 minutes to reach at Burmese border @ MACH 2. What you need to neutralize Burmese threat is Land and Air base long surveillance radars not a forward AB because it sends a very hostile message to your neighbor, who you do need to live with for long time. And involving you in a such foolish venture; your enemy, IND can't be happier because you are more boxed-up than yesterday. :woot:

There needs to be some correction here.
BAF already uses Cox Bazar base, but it is supported by the Chittagong base, until now.Earlier,BAF had asked for an advanced base in Cox Bazar, and PM accepted the proposal.Since it was BAF decision makers' request, then obviously there is a need for that base. After all we are not wise than them,at least on this matter.

Now point to note here is that,it is also the furthest base from a "Possible Indian attack".
A cousin of mine, serving in BAF,currently posted at CTG,said its just a counter strategy to stop Burmese jumping:bounce:.(He was reluctant to talk about it though).

I think we are all aware of the fact that the Burmese have recently built an air base near BD border.

The fact to worry is that the Burmese have at least 10 mig-29s and more are on order. But the good thing is that, they are short of good pilots and maintenance is poor. But it does not mean they can't improve.

On the other hand,BAF pilots have exposure to western training, giving them a slight edge. And on maintenance,my cousine said that recently BAF was ranked 6th in the world for maintenance.1 crash in every 4000 hours of flight. The percentage of crash is lower than that of USAF.I hope my memory serves me right.

But we should not underestimate any one.So its better to be cautious now, instead of crying later on.

What you need to neutralize Burmese threat is Land and Air base long surveillance radars not a forward AB because it sends a very hostile message to your neighbor, who you do need to live with for long time

I think you are totally ignoring the fact that the Burmese have already sent us a very hostile message without any provocation,by intruding into our territory and then reinforcing their border force in the BD-Burma border. And not to forget the air base they built.

When burmese considers Rohingya's,their countrymen as animals, for their race and religion....I wonder what they term us.They don't even allow rohingya to marry as it will increase the muslim population. That speaks volumes about their mentality. One can not negotiate with idiots.PM Chamberlain did the mistake in WW2.I hope we don't do the same.

Last time I visited Zahurul base was in 1988, so by now many changes could occur and COX Bazaar base's coming into being might be one of it. I also acknowledged that BAF officials knew more than us, unfortunately, though it was not the forward base or their knowledge but the intention, aptitude and mindsets that needed to be addressed in the context of rapid global, regional and internal scenarios, which I tried to do. I just got the confirmation that I suspected all along about the sell-out of some army higher-ups that happened to run the country behind the scene by keeping others in the dark. My initial suspicion grew after meeting peace core officials of BA of UN and it got ripe after series of so-called JMB bombings throughout the country after putting Khaleda in China going flight. While Bangla Bhai and Abdur Rahman were demanding to make them public before getting hung; Those tricky, conniving MUAs and their civilian cohorts FUAs didn't pay any heed to their pleas and hanged them hurriedly, thus they were let die with lot of secrets with them. The reason for mentioning above example was to inform you that it was those bustard army generals that willingly played in INDO-ZION's hands to paint BD as an extremist laden country. The timing of forward base in COX Bazaar base, letting AL goons to run Lathi-Baitha havoc on Jamaaties, making BNP's power base half dead through suffocation by planned and meticulous-thrown up 200000 of them in torturous jail-cells were all MICRO works of changing political, financial and ideological landscapes in INDO-ZIONS favor. And those fats general, army bastards facilitated it to happen as a trade off of their UN jobs and probably large sums of money and PR in Western countries. So, when you talk about BAF forward base, Azmi's sacking or army pull over from CHT, please try to understand its broader implications. Just to let you know that we are screwed for only GOD knows for how long just because of them! Mir Jafar, Roy Durlab, Umi Chad made us suffereing for 190 years, this might be another legacy of frustration in the making, compriente my friend?

I expected that you, at least you had little better take on Indian military might. Please get this; BD doesn't have any material or geographical or technological leverage over IND that its Arm Forces can thwart Indian attack if it wants, period. For example, IND can put a NAVAL blockade to neutralize the threat of forward base of attack through its cruise missile from land or by SLCM from its SUB. The only reason, IND doesn't, is because it will lose a big market for ever.

I didn't but there was good or bad timing for everything. Knowing Rohingya misery well, I devised a win-win strategy for all but obviously not the one the illegal stooges of MUA/FUA/Hasina wanted to fool us with. There is a hadidth, "Inna Maa'l amalu Bin Niati", which means the result of an action depends on its intention. So, it’s all intention that you need to look into of the current stooges, who have come to the power over the dead bodies of Hafiz, Muffassir and the most enlightened youths of our times that I have ever come a crossed, thanks.

I am well aware of Indian military might.Apart from their missile arsenal, they can lock our fighters deep from their territory, thanks to their state of the art fighters.
I am talking of hypothetical scenario here.If we have better warning system, our fighters might just get a minute more to evacuate the cox bazar base,if a missile is launched. This is compared to other bases of BAF.But the end result will be same.BAF will lose control of sky within 1-2 hours of the war.

You are absolutely right about naval blockade.India doesn't need to invade BD to attack.

I also agree with you on the fact that India won't do it as they will not only lose a huge market here but also lose the relative calmness that is prevailing in its NE states now.
That is why I always feel the possibility of Burmese attack is more realistic than possible Indian attack.
But if it was 1970-2000,then the possibility would have reversed.Nowadays countries go for proxy war rather than conventional warfare.
