Why you think FGFA will be better then F 35

totally agreed even in the age where smart weapons of say 250Kg HE warhead can cause same kind of damage as a 2000 Kg bomb just a two or three decades back and where an onmi role jet fighter can carry a load to two fighter jets IAF still adamant about getting the required number of fighter jet as in past disrearding the fact a modern fighter or a latest UCAV and do multiple jobs in a single sortie

thing is a squad of say rafales can easily do job of a full two squad of jaguars(SEAD/DEAD) and a single squad of Mig29(escort) in a single sortie but IAF wants full nimbers and are still frowning over tejas when a single squad of tejas can do point defnce job of two squads of Mig 21 bisons its more to do the "lakeer ke faqeer syndrome" than anything else

Nope, 24-30 will be in service by 2025 but ordered in batches over the next 5 years.

2) Why the hell India always looking for Obsolete technologies, at their end of relevance? Plz ignore F 16 and go for Gen ahead walk shoulder to shoulder with other countries instead of following them, F35 has great future till date already 12 countries choose it , this give project long term relevance, reasonable cost and periodic updates whereas in case of FGFA India first ordered 200+, then reduced to 144 now 74 something. Russia requires som 100+ only.

3) Is FGFA is really stealthy ? Is there EW suit is comparable to western standards ? (had this true, India would never went to Israel for su 30). How abt engines ?? It could be like JF 17 and others will laugh at us like we do today Do we lifetime continue face these problems like in Mig 21 23 25 to SU 30 ? 4) Do India dosent learn anything from AC Gorshkov, for FGFA they first asked 1 billion $ then raised it to hopping 6 billion when India show reluctance reduced it to 3.6 billion. What is this happening ? Circus ?

5) In actual this whole FGFA is a big scam with us, IAF pilots never allowed to go near to it forget abt Scientists. Already it is flying now phase is to detect problems and rectifying it. So INDIA is paying 3.6 for developing coolants and tyres hardly 8% total.

6) Most imp. development of PAK FA is against Indian interests, like in past when Russia provided China SU 27 against china bearing its development cost when India started crying Russia offered Indian Su 30 this time India bearing its development cost now building of SU 35 on Su 30 platform and provided it to china, similarly it will provide upgraded PAK FA as CHINA FA to China then its copies will be delivered by china to pakistan with Russian engines at 1/3rd only.
When India cant stop Russia 15 yrs back to supply engines how can now ?

Had India succeed in getting it, It will be a big joke on India.

of all your large post sir thing is the current top brass that decides which should be there potential lead weapon system either its IAF or IA both seems to be confused and keep raising the bar for indegenous effort but keep buying forien stuff even by sometimes lowering the bar for them while even trying to sabotage the indegenous effort

now as for PAKFA or for that matter F35 both are stealthy but not fully stealth there is nothing like full stealth even F22 can bee seen from long distances and there are many radrs that have that capbility and thats why IAF wants rafale in big numbers as it has SPECTRA suite which can give it some saught of electronik stealth

now the thread is about P8i and i have strong reasons to beleve IN wants global hawk kind of HALE UAVs to complement it but dose not want more Mig29K for there new vikrant/IAC-1 AC for that IN wants either rafale M-NLCA combo of if possible F35C which i think rafaleM fits like a T into its requirement as it can carry 9tonne with a combat radius of around 1000Km

24-30 LRMPA (P-8I) are assured, the MRMPA will likely be served by the DRDO (C-295 based) MRMPA currently being worked on but that is an entirely seperate effort and has no bearing on the LRMPAs. Consider how the IN is utilising their P-8I fleet (deployments in A&N and Seychelles already) it is clear that the fleet will need to be expanded many times over to cover the IN's vast area of responsibility.

There is no rush, the P-8 line will be open for a while servicing US (and others') orders. India will keep purchasing in small batches (4-6) for the next 5-6 years until its full requirement (24-30 as of today) are met.
