Which one else is covering the same route except tezgam? Please let me know. If you want to travel cheap, you can always travel in all-economy Pakistan exp
Pak Business Express route is:
Karachi >>> Rohri >>> Khanewal >>> Lahore
Green Line route is:
Karachi >>> Hyderabad >>> Rohri >>> Bahawalpur >>> Khanewal >>> Lahore and continues to Rawalpindi
Karachi Express:
Karachi >>> Hyderabad >>> Nawabshah >>> Rohri >>> Bahawalpur >>> Multan >>> Khanewal >>> Sahiwal >>> Raiwand >>> Lahore
The point to note is, Pak Business Express opted to have minimum stops possible in order to shorten the time between Karachi and Lahore. We know there is very little commute going from Bahawalpur and Hyderabad so Pak Business Express decided not to stop there. It is technically the very same route with 2 additional stops and slightly longer journey but less than Karachi Express.
As I said before, if it was cost-effective solution or quicker... anything but attractive product, the market would take it easily but I don't understand the logic of starting a train service with so much publicity when all it is doing is adding some bogies in existing infrastructure and instead of raising the frequency of existing train services, starting a new service from scratch. If it was serving the junctions not being covered already, it would be a welcome addition but if they have done nothing but added a new line on the same existing route already been served at least by two different trains (I guess it's more), the only attractive thing would be cheaper, more convenient at the same price or faster. I does nothing out of all these things
Ignoring your rants, I believe Pakistan railway only has few operational trains right now that you can easily count on your fingers. Out of these trains, only recently cargo was given attention once again and it managed to increase its sales by 10 times as per the news posted 2 months ago. It still is not enough and it is very sad reality to know that only few thousand people travel on railways on regular basis as compared to 10 times smaller nations where millions of people travel on railway on daily basis.Like train to the moon? the real income of railways comes from Cargo, not passenger activity. There are already trains running on all sustainable routes.
I just gave an example of London transportation system and also talked about domestic trains but you are talking about International train service that is obviously very different kind of a thing. You're comparing a metro service with intercity one. I would be surprised if a travel between London and say vienna costs 1200 PKR.
But such promotional offers are every month in UK, I have never seen such offers for Pakistanis. On promotional tickets, I can grant you that but regular trains wouldn't cost that cheap..
