What's new

PM Modi's Address at United Nations General Assembly

He told Pakistan that raising issues in UN is inconsequential, and that he said inside the UN. He did not even touch the Kashmir Issue, which is in sync with India's official line that Kashmir is an Integral Part of India.

India has told the world that on Kashmir it is either our way or highway.

Naa dari rahadari (Rajini's dialog)...:)

He's been issue a prewarning. If he keeps at it, he will be banned.

Indian posters - what is that meaning of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam? @anant_s , @Ravi Nair , @levina

Vasudha = Earth. eka = one Kutumbam= Family ------> World is one Family

Peace through India's eyes. if we look at the Family model which Mr Modi so dearly advocates... Its Mummy and Daddy first. ( America) then the Eldest Siblings who get the biggest slice of cake. The smaller ones like us dont get too much now do they?

Then you dont know the family value of India... In our families, a father will eat only if he is in position to feed his entire family and people who are dependent (including servants)..

Atleast chinese still have more cleaner air, with a manufacturing hub, in current scenario.

Not true. Pollution levels in many places in China are just as bad as in India, or even worse. And that post does raise a valid concern. If we're as polluted as the Chinese with lesser manufacturing activity, what will be the impact if we significantly upgrade our manufacturing capabilities?

Yes it's true, let's stop exploiting the natural resources to maintain the ecological balance. Let's do away with the electricity as it's produced in thermal power plants which releases harmful gasses in the atmosphere, and the hydro power plants as it screws up the flora and fauna of the site where it's built and don't get me started with the nuclear power plants, 'ello .. Chernobyl anybody .... OMG? Those huge *** wind turbines which don't allow the pigeons carrying peace messages free passage to far off lands. Or the solar power plants which robs the barren land of much needed vitamin D. So Mr Modi, fcuk it ... how about let's "Not Make In India"
Ying to the Yang ... Bang Bang !!

Aaap yahan??

Err I am not sure if ppl like me would like to swap clean air for rotten air from the industries.

Frankly I am neither against "make in India" nor for it.

Being an autocratic government, China did it without any regard to environment, and at a breakneck speed. We can't & won't do it recklessly, we also have the added advantage of learning from their mistake and build our manufacturing base in a environment friendly manner from the beginning. It will still cause some damage to the environment, but isn't every single progress human beings made came at the cost of environment? Can we really deny that we also need blue-collar manufacturing jobs to provide employment to our really massive unskilled workforce?

Dont try sarcasm on me,it bounces over my head 8-)

Now for some reason I feel that its not easy to drill sense into a man's head when all he can think of is his immediate future and profit.Myopic view of future wont help!
I hope make in India brings investments to India but not at the cost of our "flora and fauna".
Orelse we will need hundreds of projects to clean our rivers like "clean ganga".Btw they began cleaning Ganga 25yrs back and 've not been able to clean it till now.Imagine!

I cant answer your questions Dray because media feeds me with contradicting articles like on one side I hear kudankulam NPP is unsafe and on the other side I read that it was some US and Scandinavian NGOs fueling the protests.

i wish people could come up with solutions rather than just raising concerns about everything , modi promised jobs for youth in his election rallies and this is a initiative from him is to fulfill those promises not for some superpower race with china .

setting up new 100 smart cities is another initiative taken by him to ease the burden on our metro cities with respect to urban population , now how these cities don't turn into a concrete jungles is something we need to plan . Now its for us to decide weather we just keep finding problems with every thing he does or be a part of this process and provide solutions .

I am sure if we do a little bit research we will find many possible ways to deal with pollution without compromising on our growth .
