Like I said- quid pro quo. What do you think Russia gets nothing in exchange for these products that India has in its possession? India is by FAR Russia's largest defence customer, there is simply no one else even close (forget China- the Russians are not willing to provide their top-end equipment to them for fear of their IPs being infringed). In these times where Russia is going through dire straits with its economy they need all the cash they can get- India is funding their next generation fighter (PAK FA/FGFA) and next generation medium transport a/c (MTA), if India pulls the plug they will be left in a mess.Its just the reality bro. India is very much dependent on Russia for its military. That's something almost everybody who knows a little bit about Indo-Russia military relationship knows about. Nothing new there.
An illustration of this is the fact there would be no Su-30MKM/SM without India funding the Su-30MKI.
