You had influence over Talbian as long as the top leadership and their families were in pakistan , once they are in Afghanistan your influence has drastically reduced , you can carryout operations inside Afghanistan, but that would be a bad idea. Not because taliban is strong but Pakistan is weak and dosent have the resources for a prolonged proxy war.
