Shahbaz Sharif says he 'hopes' SC will take notice of this.

This probably means they won't submit a petition themselves, and will just milk this issue for political mileage. They also want elections.

Imo it was all pre-planned but Khan will loose more as he got nothing to sell, and obviously there will be a pressure from ECP and SC. To be honest I want him to stay to keep an eye on other parties as genuine opposition but i am afraid that’s his end from politics.

Its double jeopardy
They know if they dont go to election and go to courts they will be in trouble ans will give more air to govt narrative
But id they dont, they wont be able amend NAB laws
