Talking to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani who telephoned him today (Wednesday), Imran Khan said Pakistan also wants to add more momentum to its diplomatic relations with Iran.

EU in its meeting with IK has said that they support Pak-Iran gas pipeline. With China and Russian already onboard, it will now be matter of sustaining American pressure since Trump is blowing gasket with this non sense that either you do business with America or Iran. Since America is already trying to put pressure on incoming government, with Pompeo ranting, Pakistan should go ahead with gas pipeline just to rub it into America. There are no private companies involved and Iran will complete the line in Pakistan as well US sanctions are secondary they cannot effect govt institutes.

That may or may not be so, but certainly there will be financial and political trade-offs and consequences to keep in mind for the new government, if the project goes ahead in its present form.

EU wants to keep the Nuclear deal and they will give a lot of support so don't worry there are many ways around US sanctions these are secondary ones and gas is consumed in Pakistani house holds so I think you can rest as US it self uses sanctioned Russia gas and company supplying Pakistan is Russian.

Seems the OP removed Imran's statement of playing a role as a bridge between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Iran is itself in a spot of bother. USA has hardpressed India to cancel a fuel import by putting pressure on the insurer of the shipping consignment.
