South Asia is a secular construct. Muslim is a religious construct and both do not mesh on the same plane. And as regards Pakistan it might surprise you but it is a constitutional legal contruct - meaning it is federation of the four provinces. It's DNA is the four provinces constituted into a federation.

We are one state, one language, one religion, one ethnic. Even our Islamic religion is homogeneous. There is no Shia-Sunni thing like many other muslim countries including Pakistan.
