I as a Pakistani citizen, strongly oppose this move. 1 million muslims were killed by hindus and sikhs and more are being killed everyday and yet there is no partition monument to remember their sacrifice? But this mandir is being constructed.

If they had to do politics on this religious issue, why not build a large church for our christian minority who didn't kill a million muslims and in fact serve with loyalty in our armed forces.

The Khan govt ministers could have called ambassadors of christian countries and people like Brigadier (r) Samson if they wanted a photo op.

Pakistani Hindus just like other minorities are equal citizens of the state. Hindus who have chosen to stay inside pakistan are patriotic, hardworking and contributed a lot to this country,I can confirm that with my personal experience. They are doctors,good business men and recently they are serving in our armed forces as well.
We should convey such educated and civil messages to the whole world and let them know we are not like our extremist hindutva neighbor in the east.

Imams in KPK will now earn Rs 10,000 per month starting from next month.


Qualification Needed to Earn the Stipend
There are several conditions that need to be fulfilled before an Imam can earn money through KPK government’s program.

These requirements are:

• The prayer leader must hold a degree from any of 5 recognized Boards of seminaries.
• The person needs to be a permanent citizen of KPK to be eligible for the stipend.
• A district level committee will decide which mosques qualify as the main mosques and which prayer leaders are eligible for the stipend.

According to the approved bill, the stipend will be transferred directly to a prayer leader’s bank account.

KPK is following the Turkish model,, very good.. imams as government employees can be judged based on performance and if a few betray their nation, they can be removed and punished. This is necessary to control radicalism.
