Much worse. We pollute our rivers with ALL kinds of waste and THEN drink from them. Industrial waste!!! Google 'polluted ' and then add any Indian river.

The Hindus take bath in Ganges drink wateri from it while watching the garbage and partially burned decomposing bodies floating by. The industrial waste and untreated raw sewage has also polluted the Ganges. In the late 1980s, India's government released specially bred flesh-eating turtles into the Ganges river that eat human flesh but they were poached and eaten!

I think this is not needed in India since many of them drink their own urine. While others drink cow urine. Hindus imposed the condition of drinking cow urine before entering a Hindu festival.

Oh Yeah, I'm sure it's not a problem in Pak. Industrial waste will be non existent coz there is no industry at all.

Dude, I will be honest - I don't know the answer. The IIT Delhi floated this idea in 2013 and it was accepted but not implemented - another of the pro poor policies. But it is good, the tests have been done for 1 year - I am willing to see how it works. It has cleared the safety thresholds better than their synthetic counterparts. Let's see how it works out. First there will be pilot projects anyway. We will know.
