Hi,
U S doesnot allow non stop flights from pakistan----that was the original promise from boeing which made pakistan dump the airbus and go for boeings after 9/11----but then the permission for direct flights was not given----.
That is the reason the european consortium / france is pis-sed off at pakistan---the airbus deal was already pretty muchdone---and pia walked away---. They could have also bought some brand new boeing aircraft parked in the desert by Northern airlines and barely 15--25 % of the cost of a new plane----but the carrot of direct light was dangled in front of pakistan and they fell for it before making sure---the deal was inked.
The desert storage facility was filled up with brand spanking new air crafts that the airlines had purchased---but after 9/11---were having extremely hard time flying----.
These aircraft had their only flight---from the boeing factory to the storage facility----they were available to pak airline--I am sorry---it was Northwestern airlines that wanted the dealings---.
Pakistan had the funds at that time----they could have replaced the whole fleet with these so called 'PRE-OWNED' aircraft with barely under 50 hours of flying time on them----.
