PLAAF Says Goodbye My Dear J-6

J-6 has already been demonstrated to be compatible for conversion into cruise missiles, the test has been done =)

being real UAV is too much but as 10 ton cruise missiles they'll do fine.

and what's with the attacks on india? can't we just leave india out of this? this has nothing to do with india.

wouldn't hurt to bring them out here and there scattered around the country during wartimes.

It diverts the enemy's attention.
Resources will have to be allocated to take care of it.
If enemy don't destroy it, then it can be used to attack supply lines, ground forces.

The direct and the indirect are interchangeable. 虛虛實實, 實實虛虛 --孫子

But then you'd need to maintain pilot training, maintenance, and all other sort of logistics equipment and personnel for them. Not really worth the trouble.

That's true.

Maybe we can have those 愤青 help out in kamikaze. (kidding)

Yeah if possible cheap conversion into cruise missile like below_freezing said may be the best option.

Make it tough and rugged so it can be dispersed and don't have to worry too much about weather condition (relatively speaking)

It will still achieve the same aim as a cruise missile

It's important that China, once her transition into a strong power is complete, does not forget her lessons learned the hard way. Technology is very important in todays world. Fighting enemy with inferior weapons in WWII is imcomparable to fighting today's enemies with inferior weapon. China need to keep its edge there once she had attained the suitable level.

You mean like to weapon antique collectors

lol, well they should be more fun to fly around than those weak sauce cessnas! But then again, their airframes are probably pretty shoddy by now, so they might be a bit more dangerous.

It was one of the worlds best dog fighter.

The Pakistan Air Force used the J-6 in action against its original designers, the Soviet Union, and the jet claimed half a dozen air to air victories.

Servicing would be an issue, and I think you need special trainings for these type of aircraft
