Its not surprising , Europe is as ethnically charged and nationalistic as any country in the middle east, far east or south Asia. They are as much protective of their identities( Judeo-Christian ) as we are about ours . Its only in America that all races and ethnicities are given "equal" treatment. Only difference between Europeans and us is that they have bushels of money.

Europe must come up with strict laws for allowing people from other faith if they have problem with them. becoming phobic to one of the biggest religions in the world, Europe is only proving itself biased.

They see immigration - from anywhere in the developing world as an invasion of European culture and values - Not that they have faced many incidents or attempted incidents of extremism other than the London bombings , and the Danish cartoon plots . Most of their fear is irrational - based on hearsay and uneasiness with foreign cultures .

But its not America where the civil society at least guarantees a certain degree of public safety , a fail safe redress system and so on. Even if "laws" could be improved - its not going to help unless the people grow to be more tolerant of other cultures and traditions.

Like it or not - To an European -race , ancestry , ethnicity , colour means a lot more than it does in multicultural and tolerant America. That's not going to go away as fast.

You People keep missing the problem. When you guys figure out why France is doing what it is and why Germany and UK have declared multiculturalism complete failure come let me know. Read my above comment again. We non-whites indeed have been involved in very stupid fights, arguments and what not. Even today we are failing to unite and create same power like the EU. Nonetheless, we never created hatred against one particular race in a way the entire world hates them, then propagate every kind of nonsense against them to justify our attacks, then force our system of our way of living on them, and then make their way of living in our countries impossible for them. When they attacked the black they were dying to prove to the world they are doing the right thing, when they attacked the Jews they were dying to prove to the world they are doing the right thing, and now exact same thing is happening with Muslims. You should hear them justify their brutal atrocities against Indiana's and Aboriginals, which is NOTHING compared to whatever race in the world.

You seem to have overlooked many parts of History which depict reality of gruesome atrocities non-whites have committed against other non-whites. The discrimination against the Africans, first by Europeans and then by US is well documented and many steps were taken to correct that. Same with American Indians. I am sure the Australian govt is doing the same.

As for us, the non-Europeans, we dont discriminate against race or color, basically because we are the same color. Mostly. We discriminate others based on shade of skin color, religion, tradition, geographical area and what not! And you call us "civilized"?

We dont propagate hate, as you say the Europeans did - which I find really hard to believe. We teach our children to discriminate, we teach our children the superiority of ourselves over others based on really trivial matters. I mean look around, you will see blatant racism/discrimination everywhere - non-whites against whites and blacks, Chinese against Indians/Vietnamese/Japanese/Russians, Pakistanis against Dravidians(!!), Indians against Pakistanis/Chinese, Arabs against South Asians/Iranians etc. That is more dangerous than anything else the Europeans had done. Why do you think the Gulf and surrounding countries are in such a mess? You/we pass hatred down our generations. Those are not stupid fights or arguments as you said.

This is nothing compared to what non-muslims have to endure in Islamic countries...
Even in the so called 'moderate muslim country like malayisia, non-muslims who form a significant portion of the population are treated like second class citizens. When muslims immigrate to non-muslim countries they demand that Islamic rules should be imposed there. But in Islamic countries, the non-muslims are not allowed to practise their faith even in private.

Unfortunately this happens every now and then, remember when i lived back in sweden, neo nazis threw a pigs head at our mosque in the night. But oh well, these neo nazis form just a part of the general western population (though they are becoming more popular, again unfortunatly i believe that this has something to do with the financial crises, as soon as things start running smoothly again, people get their jobs back, things should become normal again hopefully).

There was another news bit stating a cap on the immigration of Bangladeshi cooks and a Govt initiated effort to encourage Polish migrants to step into their traditional occupations of Cooking in the many multi cuisine restaurants.

The case of the Gurkha ex-armymen and the legal struggles they have to undergo to gain permanent British residency is also well known.( Even though public opinion was very much against it ).

But these are covert or subtle ways of keeping out immigrants at the Government level. They cannot overtly prevent immigration absolutely or behave in a likewise discriminatory manner since most of the world human rights organizations , amnesty , various NGO's , other organizations are then going to cry foul about hypocrisy . At least in the eyes of the world - They have to look legit and adhere to "high " moral standards since they have themselves set the benchmark.

For the international community to give their opinions some credence - eg. When there is an honour killing in India or say a Gang rape in Pakistan or a riot in China where a number of monks are killed or the detention of an activist in Myanmar- for them to be taken seriously when they raise a hue and cry over these issues - they have to first build their tolerant , "progressive " ,clean and liberal images very well in the minds of everyone.

However as far as people's attitudes are concerned , they still have a really derogatory perception of not just Muslims - Asians , people from other backward regions etc. The idea of an inferior / pagan/ barbaric culture is still very much there in their minds.Say its a kind of superiority complex. And its true , no matter how skilled a migrant you are , you will always find it incredibly difficult to blend in European society , in comparison to somewhere like America .

I believe there was another article in a British tabloid or so ...deriding the Black players in the French Soccer Team , after a loss to them....that The French team is full of Blacks and immigrants , no genuine frenchmen etc

I don't think so. Because it is the 9/11 syndrome that has caused this.
