Pictures & Video of the Three Z-10 Helicopters to Pakistan - updated

Can someone shed light on what gun that is? According to wikipedia the WZ-10 has an option for 3 guns.

Cannot say i wasn't expecting this. Anyone who says that operational history does not matter to a buyer has no idea what they are talking about.

The ones ridiculing the terms are more responsible for their abuse than the ones mentioning them.
Dont worry just few more days Then INSHA ALLAH Z10 will be a battle proven successfull chopper....
long live PAK-CHINA FRIENDSHIP :pakistan::china::cheers:

He looks like a PAF pilot.. is air force gonna use it?

Keep Apache out of consideration but What makes you think Atak stays behind of Z-10 in terms of service ceiling ? Why should Turkiye need to improve T-129 Since Atak is known as one of the BEST attack helicopter in terms of high/hot and power to weight ratio in its class ?
The Z-10 has a service ceiling of 6400 meters so does the Apache and the LCH has one of 6500 meters, While T-129 has one of 6100 meters. Remember that pakistan has some of the highest mountain ranges in the world so the service ceiling matters. The range not so much but still

Waiting for Indian response:
1-These are Chinese knock offs of the AH64 India is buying
2-Because they are Chinese and Pakistan is using them, they are not worth anything
3-They came as free gifts, so they must be inferior of some sort
4-Indian BSF can shoot them with stones from a sling shot

and so on....

Actually, Indians' standard response is the following:

1) The word 'helicopter' is derived from sanskrit, so helicopters must have originated from India.
2) India is a peaceful country, so it doesn't pursue weapons research as much as China.
3) India invented zero, and helicopters require the use of zero.
4) India invented helicopter in ancient times. India will only need to re-discover the blue print from Vedic texts to produce the most advanced attack helicopter.
5) India is the source of all knowledge and all sciences. Therefore, India designed this Chinese helicopter.
6) India will be a superpower by 2020...

But enough about the Indians. They have some beef to worry about.

Here are some decent photos of the Z-10 and its HMS. The last photo is an animated GIF that shows off Z-10's maneuverability:

China will gain valuable combat performance data from Pakistan. There is no better way to find what needs to be improved than to have it used in real combat. There is no better country to entrust these helicopters to than Pakistan due to a proven record of cooperation and high level of strategic trust. China can be sure that Pakistan will test them thoroughly and will keep all information regarding these helicopters confidential, which is of paramount importance.

Pakistan provided invaluable advice on the various interface elements (symbology, cockpit layout, ergonomics) for the J-10 program, not to mention the performance data and operational experience for the F-16 so that China could be sure that J-10's performance exceeds it. It's great to see this close cooperation continues for yet another weapon system.

May there be more!

If it's Turkey, I wouldn't worry about sanctions. The Turks didn't care about the previous sanctions, and helped Pakistan maintain it's F-16 fleet; With Turkey's ambitions of becoming the leader of the Sunni Muslim world, they would rather help Pakistan rather than hinder it...

T129 is undoubtedly a capable helicopter, but it's not in the same class as the WZ-10. T-129's gun is only 20mm for a start. Also, ToT could be difficult, no matter what Turkey says or promises because we don't know if T129 is fully indigenized in reality. In fact, I doubt it is, which means the European countries (NATO members) that supply the subsystems can easily threaten to withhold components. Just a phone call from Washington can put ToT out of reach.

Z-10, on the other hand, has no such handicaps. Certainly the engine could use more power, and various other aspects can be improved, but China genuinely owns all intellectual property, all tooling, all production facilities, so ToT is absolutely assured.

Another advantage is that China has a proven track record of listening to Pakistani inputs and make modifications and improvements accordingly. Can Turkey do that? Is Turkey even willing to accommodate these requests? Even if Turkey is willing, will its European partners go along in making the modifications? Will America approve these modifications?

There are simply too many strings attached to T129. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised that Turkey is being encouraged by the US to sell T129 to Pakistan so that America can have another lever with which to coerce Pakistan in the future.

It's simply unwise to source an attack helicopter from a NATO member, even if that member is Turkey, because we all know that America pulls all the strings in NATO.
