ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan International Airline flight which took off from Karachi for Islamabad early on Wednesday was diverted to Lahore allegedly to drop a PIA officer’s daughter, CNBC Pakistan reported.

The situation was unexpected and quite annoying for passengers when PK-562 landed at Lahore airport. The passengers were told that the landing is meant for refueling, sources said.

This is a BS story, made by some disgruntled pax and the rumor then took off...you can't go around landing planes just like that wherever you wish! Landing slots, parking charges, route planning, weather forecast, aux fuel etc etc.

What happened was that PSO has stopped/reduced fuel supply to PIA due to non-payment of fuel charges at Isl airport, so the aircraft took off with less fuel from Isb, and then took over more fuel for the flight to Karachi at Lahore. This happened alot of times before as well, in Isl airport as well as Lahore airport, with PSO stopping fuel supply due to no-payment of charges by PIA.

Ok so it was a rumor perhaps But that still doesn't redeem them or negate the fact they are so mismanaged.

Why not cancel the flight then and refund the money

Because who ultimately suffered the inconvenience

Why must there always be excuses in the country for why **** can't get done!
