Philippines allows visa-free entry for Indians

Bureau of Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr said he had issued a memorandum permitting Indians to enter the country without a visa provided they hold valid visa from a European Union-member country or six other countries. The immigrations chief identified these countries as the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, Singapore, and UK.

I think similar rule is applied in many countries. I mean for example Turkey has similar policy for many asian countries where if you have 'Schengen' Visa, American, Canadian or visa for Switzerland visa you can enter Turkey without any visa required whereas if you do not have a visa for above countries... You will need to obtain visa to enter Turkey.

It is just a normal thing for many countries

All these visa things are more to do with some sort of reciprocity rather than any respect/disrespect.
I dont see any reason why a luxermberg/japanse guy should get visa on arrival in India but not us/uk who are our big trading partners too.

Few months ago, Indians holding schengen tourist visa used to go to UK embassy in Belgium for possibility of visa to UK, to cover UK in their schedule. The UK embassy there told them to go back and apply it in India. The Indian Embassy in Belgium started 'tit-to-tat' to Britishers who came for Indian visa in Belgium and directed them to Indian embassy in London.

So tit-for-tat is nothing new.

Absolutely, the only implication being travelling to Phillipines will be easier for many Indians who can afford it in the first place.

The usual suspects hiding behind different flags saw an insult to Indians in that. Can you give them infractions for not possessing the minimum reasoning abilities criteria?

One cannot be given infraction just because he is ignorant and feeling inferior . It ensures that the people entering with out visa can afford to stay in Phillipines atleast .

What is the percentage of Indians who can afford international travel? How about the balance Indians population? Don't you think this is discriminatory. One rule for the "Rich" and another rule for the "Poor", and you supported this discrimination against your countrymen?
Thats rather silly thinking i can say . Its like thinking If you get rank in entrance for University and say all intelligent are taken , thats discrimination :hitwall: Its as simple as poor cannot afford to stay . They are not rejecting visas for poor Indians saying you are poor . That would be a discrimination . Indeed they are just trying to increase their tourism by giving special privilege to EU Indians .
@acetophenol , i dont know if Phillipines give such privilege to others but few countries do . This move is also to irritate China apart from Tourism .
