Caste system is not the only evil of hinduism. This religion in the past had so many evil practices that it made even the medieval foreign travellers to spin their head. I will count some practices which was practiced in Hinduism just 100-200 years ago and still causing problem due to hang-over effect.
Sati: It is widow burning alive in funeral pyre of her dead husband. Before abolishing this practice in 1829, it was common. Some Medieval Muslim rulers also tried to put end to this practice but without much success. Finally British rulers able to put an definite end to this practice. Still a few widow burning happened in modern India.
Child sacrifice to river Ganges: It was a widespread practice among hindus in the past. Still happen secretly in India.
Human sacrifice to goddess Kali: Numerous Kali temple dotted across India where human sacrifice was practiced. For example, in Kalighat temple in Kolkata, it was mandatory to sacrifice at least one human on everyday. It was only in 1840s, that this practice was suppressed. But it is still continued in present India. Most of the victims are kidnapped children.

Widow re-marriage prohibition: This one evil practice ruined the millions of girls and women's life throughout the history. Hindu widow no matter how young the girl was prohibited to remarry after their husband's death. Some of them were burned as a Sati. Rest were forced to follow a draconian lifestyle throughout their remaining life(like numerous fasting, eating only vegeriarian foods, shunning all the bright cloths and jewellaries, avoiding festivals etc.) Hindu women were allowed to re-marry only in 1856 law passed by British govt. and the tireless activism by some social reformers like Ishwar Chandra Bidyasagar of Bengal. Even in 50-60 years ago, child widow was widespread among hindus. Even in 2020, a very few Hindu widow actually re-marry.
Thuggee cult: This notorious cult practitioners were devotee of goddess Kali who devoted their life at 'killing for Kali'. The most common method of their hunting was to befriend some strangers most commonly travellers, then in one opportune time killing him/her and flee.It was common before rail travel became the norm and then the British govt. surpressed them with iron hand.
Tantraism: This weird branch of Hinduism is known for a lot of filthy, gory and dangerous rituals which often involve killing humans and mutilating their bodies.
