Pepsi And Coca Cola Pouring $1.4 Billion In Pakistan

A great personal choice!

People need to be educated. There is this sad culture in Pakistan where drinking this black soda is considered fashionable. Government should enforce the same message as we see on cigarette packets that drinking this crap is disastrous for health.

True.

Views expressed on PDF are not a true reflection of consumption levels of fizzy drinks in Pakistan. People buy and consume these drinks every day (much of Pakistan).

Those who think that juices and other drinks of color are absolutely safe - need a serious wake up call. Even Tea is not good for your health due to caffeine levels.

As long as they have choices, and the freedom to make them, it is not a bad thing.

A good educational campaign is a great thing, I agree. But it is still people who need to make the choices for themselves.

Biggest threat to health is unclean water, period. Trumps everything else in damaging your body.

People should rather worry about high levels of arsenic in water. It is underestimated POISON.

Ofcourse, but what I am pointing to is the lack of education as to what this crap actually contain. Pakistanis drink it as a fashion statement which is simply pathetic. Imagine gulping 22 sachets of sugar in one sitting. Sell it by all means, but government must enforce a warning message on each bottle and warning the consumers about health risk, just like in cigarette packets.

Excess of everything is bad. Instead of spreading paranoia about potential health risks of fizzy drinks, people should stop being lazy and exercise daily, and get a grip on their addictions to "taste." Excess consumption of even Tea is bad due to high level of caffeine in it but you do not see people complaining about this fact.

And I would suggest to all members to get arsenic level in drinking water checked. If you are consuming impure water, you are ruining your health anyway. Blaming Coca Cola for all health related issues, is foolish.

And orofecal bacterial contamination.

That is rather ironic, since soda use is more prevalent among the relatively more educated people in Pakistan. A government-mandated warning is another good idea that I would agree with here.

It is not just a matter of personal choice. Pakistan can say goodbye to whatever water they've left if Coke and Pepsi have their way.

hahaha Capitalists only care abt money and money only!!!!!!

Pakistan is the 5th largest country on this planet, Coke Studio itself has given more publicity to Coca Cola worldwide then they ever had in recent times.

Its in their interests to keep that going. And its them who actually control America their Senate or Pres. are just big drama show!

Dont worry abt Americans as long as they have big investments here.

Just how much water will they use to manufacture fizzy drinks?!

Tea atleast got benefits, its natural and organic. what are the benefits of this black soda with 22 sachets of sugar in it?

Drinking soda is a voluntary choice. Don't like it? Don't drink it. Simple!

We are not talking about soda water... it's Pepsi + Cola, where additional is sugar and unknown chemicals.

Pakistan public in villages is not educated about what health losses are connected with Pepsi and Cola and i don't think you need to be educated on Pakistani rural population situation.

Neither state has ever tried to educate the public about true cost of consuming sugar filled chemical drinks.

I know, state is looking to show something positive on talk shows but this is criminal.

I agree that the state should have a good educational campaign about making good choices for all fizzy drinks for the public. However, in the end, it remains a personal choice.
