Pentagon Preps Stealth Strike Force to Counter China

India, and the world in general including China, needs another 15-20 years of high growth. We especially need to grow in 8-10 % range next 20 years to remove poverty and give a good living standards to our people. So to all those, including Indians, wishing for US to take down China should know that if China goes down so goes down the global economy with it. Unlike previous world wars the global economy is too entangled (thanks to globalization) and China is a very important piece in it. So if China goes down everyone goes down with it.

quite right, this has been i was trying to tell these people all along, but they're too thick to get it. strangling china by trade? sure its possible, but in no way is this easy and the consequences are severe for everyone including the possibility of a nuclear war.

Anyways if US indeed takes down China India should just sit out and enjoy the show :pop:
The current leadership of China is too aggressive and I just feel is digging its own grave. It has unresolved territorial issues with almost every country in Southeast Asia and South Asia. By flexing its muscle all around it has given a pretty big opening to the US.

the problem is, india cant just sit out, like it or not, all nations of any significance at all is going to be burned badly in a US-China show down thats why everyone wants to avoid it.

and about your thoughts on china, india too has disputes with all of its neighbors, as does korea and japan, old disputes mean little when it comes to measuring "aggressiveness" of a nation, the currently leadership is no more aggressive any any other ascending power indeed its much more calm when compared to rising powers of the past. china played its hand and perhap over extended a little but that is in no way "digging its own grave" last i check china is still growing at the fastest rate of all major economies and with each passing day its power grows, simply put china is gonna be in asia forever and it will always be larger than its neighbors with the exception of perhaps russia, the neighbors can either accommodate and accept a powerful china and make the best of the situation or find a 800lb elephant breathing down their back. and FYI nearly ALL the land disputes china had, has been solve by negotiation clearly not something an aggressive power does is it? the problems arises in cases like japan, where japan flat out refused to acknowledge there is a dispute let alone talk about it.

There is no doubt that China has done wonders with its economy. Its one of the fastest growing economy not just now but for the last two amd a half decades. Its an incredible feat. Its the diplomacy where I feel it is left wanting.

China indeed signed the border agreement with Soviet Union but that was when China was weak (comparatively) and needed peace at its northern border. Now by flexing its muscle all around it has opened up flood gates for US. It started string of pearls against India and pushed her into US camp (which was unthinkable a decade ago) annoyed most South Asian country and now finds itself increasingly encircled by US. This opening to US could have been totally avoided. Anyways weather China can take on all these countries + US at once or she indeed fucked up diplomatically only time will tell.

Regarding India staying out, I hope we will try to be neutral as long as possible but most likely as it looks today if push comes to shove we will end up in US camp.
