It also cuts at economic growth, if we grow 2% of the economy per year and 2% inflation and 2% population growth. That means real GDP per capita growth is actually negative. Over population also causes land, housing and space issues, slums come with overpopulation. Unemployment will also be made worse, sure we have more people in the labour force, but not enough aggregate demand or investment to make up for it, so unemployment.
Pollution, and environmental effects of having too many people is also quite clear. Right now, South Asia has some of the most polluted cities in the world, and you wish to make it worse?
