wahabis , i think hold the quranic teachings more strongly than hadith -- however we pakistanis say that ''quran said to hold salath'namaz' '' but the method of the salath prayer is not in the quran , rather in hadith .. not to mention so many places in the quran where allah has ordered to follow the teachings of the prophet.. so pakistanis , generally take both the parts of islam together--- wahabism was a necessity in arabia so that the basic teachings dont get diluted and forgotten over the years.... however taliban are illiterate guys having no clue of what islam is and shouldnt be potrayed as wahibis let alone as muslims

pakistanis also hold sufi ism / spirtuality dearly -- there are different methods/different schools of thought varying in minute differences .. all tranferred by the prophet pbuh to hazrat ali saw

i am not a student of comparative religion and i am not a person who should / can discuss these aspects as ive only read the quran e translation and bukharee sharif 2/3 once in my lifetime -- and many of the people here havent even studied the quran once at all and they give their half baked ideas regarding sects/religion..it is pathetic

i dont know much of sects.. and frankly i NEVER CARED .. i remembers my first day in med school .. i had a form to fill .. which had many categories name/id/province.. aswell as caste ---AND I WROTE MUSLIM-- eventhough i had to change it afterwards but this is how muslims should think

Even though majority of our Pakistani Citizens are Sunni Muslims, we have a sizeable ( 15% ) minority of Shia citizens whom we respect very much. Pakistani Shias are a highly educated segment of Pakistani society.

Also remember that some very prominent Pakistanis are Parsi (Zoroastrian). A. Cowasjee and the Avari family (super, super rich) come to mind.

I think saudi arabia might become a pride for the muslim world at some point, they have very good plans for beautiful cities. who knows maybe one day I even visit.

we need to make the middle east shine again, people easily forget that without the middle east the world would had been nothing.
we were the cradle of so many different things, but now look, we are being called terrorists by some cow boys.

We need to stick together someday. I believe in one guy told I remember the quote but not what he said "All wars could be prevented with 15 minutes of honest diplomacy".

I appreciate this finally, I am sick of Arabs killing each other for no reasons. We need to discuss how to create UNITY solution rather than backbiting individuals for just religions, races, and supremacy, enemies laugh you alot as they save their money. It is very difficult for Pakistan too.

Of course they do, they are the holiest place for all Islam. I meant a pride in a different way.
they have very beautiful city in planning. imagine what we can do if we traded amongst ourselves, with the resources we have, we could had made Middle east a power house. but the likes of george bush will not let that happen.
