PDF Brits: Places to visit in the UK?

Don't come up north, its too bloody cold here. We are supposed to be getting a lot of snow and road disruptions.

. . .
I thought you were from London.
Moved around a lot in my life. I was born in London and lived there for most of my life however I have lived in the Middle East and Manchester as well, these days i'm in Manchester, lets see where uni takes me. Maybe a different city. :yahoo:

Well people, it's that time of the year where holidays are just around the corner, people are enjoying the Christmas atmosphere, lights on the streets and the ronak (I can't think of a good translation for ronak).

I on the other hand want to travel around the UK during the two weeks off from college. I would love some recommendations! Something to do with nature would be great, for example Aber Falls, Lake District, Peak District. I want an adventure and i'm always open to visit and and experience new things so anything should be alright.

The peak district, lake district, Yorkshire moors, Scotland, Cornwall are all wonderful places to explore. Near the peak district there is Matlock, Dovedale - both incredible places for hiking and views. However its best going there during late spring, summer, early autumn. This time of year it's cold and miserable and often there is snow and ice in the higher ground, it gets dark really early - not worth the time.

If you want to try visiting somewhere in the UK try the Eden project - http://www.edenproject.com/ It's probably a 4-5 hour drive from London though, i'd defintely reccomend an overnight stay otherwise what is meant to be a holiday turns into a mission.

This might sound a bit daft, but if you've never been to an aquarium visit one. i went to my first one last year, took the kids. i think i enjoyed it more than they did!

Also if you are looking for a cheap trip abroad - https://www.holidaypirates.com/

Try Cheshire Oaks or any part of Knutsford too - so serene

If you dont mind some cold then Scottish Highlands are the most stunning in terms of landscape in all of British Isles.

If you are going for sunshine go for the beaches in Cornwall. Those beaches have a continental touch to it.

Thanks for the detail above, as for Wimmy Road I think I've had enough for one day.
Nothing like Curry Mile though, it's the broke version of Lahore's Food Street. :p:

Too many Arabs, Kurds and Turks have opened up sheesha bars though lol

Do you want a City, Countryside or a beach break? What part of Spain?
Find accommodation in Leeds.
Then visit , Walled city of York , a free train museum there.
Visit peak District national park, Yorkshire dale.
In peak district, visit Lady bower and Derwent where RAF developed dam busters.
My favourite is Bleaklow where a WW2 American bomber crashed and wreackage is still there today, engines and all.

You say something to do with nature OP, I personally wouldn't go to any national park at this time of the year, it's cold and it gets dark early. I went camping/hiking in Snowdonia in Northern Wales this past summer, it's a beautiful region.

Personally, I'd say London is probably best this time of year, there are plenty of christmas markets around if you know where to look. Hyde Park winter wonderland has both christmas markets and ice skating, the latter which I haven't actually done before. And although I haven't been, Kew Gardens does night time shows this time of year.

Depends on your perception.
Ground gets frozen solid in December early mornings and much easier to walk in the wild terrain.
Of course you start just after sunrise and finish your trek arpind midday.

Snowdonia is wonderful, not too far from Snowdonia is a place called Aber Falls which is about a 30 to 40 minutes hike after which you are treated to a beautiful waterfall. Great place to go with family for sure.
I have never really hiked up Mount Snowden, that's a great idea! Shale mine is again a good idea.

London is a city that never sleeps and for that reason it's my favorite out of any UK city. Hyde Park is a major attraction. Central London is great this time of year as well. Even Tooting has a certain vibe to the area in December. To my understanding there will be a concert in Richmond Park sometime this December, free of charge. I'm not too sure when though.

Too many Arabs, Kurds and Turks have opened up sheesha bars though lol
Looks like someone's got the Wilmslow Vibe. :p:
I don't smoke; whether sheesha or cigarettes. There's a few decent restaurants there as well. My pet hate is that MyLahore does not do traditional Pakistani food despite it's name. I went once, never going again.

Peak District is not too far from me, it's a good idea. I could easily go and comeback with in a few hours and the best thing is, I can do all that in day light. Well that's one thing sorted! Thanks, I'm making a plan for that!

My father's taken a few days off work, so i'll talk to him about York.

I'm living in Manchester, don't want to go even more North. :p:
