Targeting the Taliban

NOW is a top critical world affairs program with an independent focus on news that most mainstream outlets don't bother reporting on.

this week they are airing "targetting the taliban" focusing on pakistan's war on the taliban. they take the viewer to the frontline in the war and report on the issues facing pakistan as it fights this war, what problems they are having, how the war is affecting civilians. the relationship of pakistan and the usa on the war.

there are also a lot of video of frontline operations, of pakistan soldiers conducting raids, and in firefights. there are also many interviews with many top pakistan military leaders on the conflict.

the full episode (25 min) is also on NOW website.

Just watched it. Very good. Amazing people and really rather incredible scenery.

One of your officers protested that if Americans didn't think his men weren't fighting, we should come and see for ourselves. I have full confidence that your men are fighting every day. I have full confidence that they do so bravely and with great skill. I know their enemy is resourceful and on his home ground but I don't doubt that Pakistan's army is fighting these men.

I only wish you'd fight Haqqani's and others as well as keep your own citizens like Nazir and Bahadur from attacking Afghanistan.

Well i have to say Despite my own view about Pakistan is not taking the right action against elements operating in its country.

It is certainly doing a lot, to fight what it can.

Hope Pakistan can beat all the terrorists in its country.

Awesome piece of journalism. Good to see Swat is slowly coming back to life. And finally, a befitting response for 'do-more(ons)', we need to resolve our problems first before we even start thinking about others.
