Dear Readers,

After this blog post and the reaction received, Paul Smith updated their website and recognised that the shoes in question were in fact inspired by Peshawari Chappals.

Now the link on the website says 'inspired by Peshawari chappal'. The twitter has helped with this credit.

Peshawari Chappal requires no introduction in Pakistan. It is widely worn summer footwear by men in Pakistan (as well as in many parts of India) with the traditional dress of Shalwar Kameez. It is more like a sandal than a slipper.

Chappal, sometimes also refer as ‘Kheri’ has over hundred years old history, firstly started in Peshawar and Charsadda. But wait a sec, Chappal is now becoming friend of Jeans and the new fashion of using Chappal as summer shoes is getting popular each day.
