Then if that was case ,the US govt should go for some foreign nations for fifth gen fighter because under performance of the F35 at its initial production stage ?
If IAF continues the lust for foreign maal it will be the GoI and Indian industry will take toll and heat ,something that will press the economy .Did you see what happened in the Mistral case in Russia?
Chinese also knows their aerospace area is still not that equal to US .But they arestill funding and now getting the results .
That is realistic in here.LCA can do its job like Airpolicing and others light responsibilities.LCA wont be the front line fighter in a conflict scenario.Mig UPG ,Su,Rafale and FGFA in future will take that chance.
This is a R&D and it is a learning curve .The future Indian aerospace industry in India will depend on the basic success of LCA .
And for basic light weight protection LCA would b e enough and MK 2 willbe potent.

but new govt / PMO & DM wants to accelarate R&D and procuremnt of LCA for whichthey are in talks with a few western compnies and a few private indian compnies

more than MK2 new DM wants to "push the tehnikal envelope" of LCA MK 1 while his main focus is on accelarating R&D on AMCA

remmeber so called "mini MMRCA" is new name for gapfiller Mig 21& 27 while the future is all about 5th gen so why waste more time & resources on any forign platform

till FGFA arrives there wont be any more western MMRCA fighter exept a squad more of FFB Rafales ....period

The defence ministry right now looks too confused to make a final decision..
They are trying really hard to find a solution for the delays in LCA which effects the retirements of our migs which in turn get even more complicated by long stand offs in the mmrca, that's why they suddenly opted for the 36 fly away rafale's.
it will be really tough for Mr. Parikkar to find a solution which is accepted to all. It will sincerely be a great turnaround if the DM and the govt finds the right ans to these problems.
There are complications in the FGFA too and the new govt. make in India Initiative may be a good juncture for our manufacturing sector but it might just not be the right time for our indigenous defence R&D and production to be involved in it.
