I know 4 stalls which I frequent which are outwardly Hindu (photos of Hindu deities, Hindu name of stall). In each of them the UPI payment goes to a Muslim name. In two of these stalls there is a Hindu partner, so probably that explains it. In the other 2 I don't know why. These are tapris that sell cigarattes, rolls, confectionary items etc. I have never seen Hindus boycotting such shops based on religion of the owner. In Bangalore the big retail stores are almost entirely owned by Malayali Muslims. They do roaring business. So for these small stalls which get customers mainly from the poorer end of society, this is even more puzzling. I must add this is a very recent phenomenon.
