I never really liked Dr. Amir but after this, he has just gained a bit of my respect.

I don't like a lot of this his traits but two things I never doubted about him that he is Muslim at heart and patriotic Pakistani but otherwise he is doing a lot amateurish things to get ratings and stay in news.
Remember that he not only left MQM but also resigned from ministry of religious affairs when he made comments against the Queen of UK for bestowing upon knighthood to Satan Rushdie.
Similarly he also denied to defend AH for his anti-Pakistani remarks and speeches and left the party. Many consider him a drama but I saw a hint of sincerity in him.

Yes....He has come a long way from where he started, he has matured dramatically over time and the best thing he did in my sight was to quit MQM on live TV. He is a patriot, no doubt about that
