Panama Case in the process while I heard a news about offshore companies. Is Pakistan going to legal offshore companies in Pakistan?

Corruption as in money laundering, assets beyond means, concealment of assets and undeclared assets local and abroad are still punishable crimes besides the argument of legal or illegal off shore companies. So the Panama case is beyond just off shore companies.

Anyhow, any law against the letter and spirit of constitution can be repealed by SCP.

He will again file with his own signatures.. What a shame.. actual reason should have been "absconder". A man who doesn't respect Pakistani courts and absconded should not be allowed to take part in any election, until he submits himself to the law..

Although I agree with you in principle about the absconder status should be the real reason but our third class electoral law allows this abhorrent status holder to stand in elections...what a joke of a democratic lunacy is Pakistan Election Act and its laws.

It shouldn't be that easy to re-apply since his forged signatures were caught by ECP. No deliberations required on forged or real but declared forged already, hence a crime has been committed. Enough grounds for even criminal proceedings.

But again, our Election laws are a script for circus to keep people entertained in the name of democracy so any thing is possible.

There should have been a movement to improve and tighten the election laws. Instead, this assembly has made even more holes for the corrupt to get elected.

What a joke to claim rule of law and democracy when the worst people of the society are eligible to get elected.

Sure, why not...if the Sharifs can get away with restriction on nominations even after orchestrating and attacking SCP and taking money from Hameed Gul and ordering Justice Qayyums to give favourable judgements and go on a spree of contempt without even a tv ban then so should everybody else.

Whenever I hear a claim of fair and free elections, the first thing that comes to mind is it must be sarcasm.

Fair and free elections my foot. No body has the guts to go beyond mere words and claims - to do anything about it. In its current form, when there is no such thing as a strict electoral law to ensure fair, free and proper nominations instead of criminals, thugs and absconders from justice... What to speak of fair and free
elections but an illusion to make a fool out of people of Pakistan.

If parliament failed to make stricter election laws then it is because those who fear rejection in case of strict election laws are already sitting in parliament. How can CJP even claim to ensure fair and free elections under these pathetic election laws?

How can known criminals one of who were caught instructing a Judge to do injustice on behalf of his elder brother, keep ruling us time and again and get nothing but a few sarcastic remarks after almost the completion of his second straight term in office - ten years of rule by a money launderer who gets away with Hudaibya case opening just because he is helping out against his brother - there you go... I said it pinki PTI.
I keep telling PTI, you have to act or it shall be a case of MANZIL UNHAIN MILI JO SHAREEKE SAFR NA THAY.

When we look at these cold, hard facts, how can all this be justified but as Just a game of keeping people disillusioned.

Kudos to people of Lodhran...PTI went back on its narrative of nepotism and bites the dust...

Never underestimate the political awareness of PTI voters. This lot votes for PTI on principles and not if it is taken for granted.

Kudos Lodhran, unlike the horde of Lambs i.e. the PMLN voter, you have shown more political maturity than the mentaly petrified voters of NA-120 and elsewhere.

Expanding on my horde of lambs comment...Ever wonder why SULTAN RAHIs films were such a hit with our masses?

Following is my two cents on the skewed populism of the sharifs that poses serious challenges to our collective socio-political intellect. This was posted in another thread.

Respect and trust are not the right words for Sharifs but what a GODFATHER and family commands - Reverence and Awe.

Trust and Respect can be derived from a just cause or struggle for political principle. No semblence here.

Majority of our brethren are in awe of larger than life Sharifs that can get away with anything and display power beyond imagination - well atleast till very recently - against the big bad PPP bogeymen and old habits die hard when a people are so awe stricken for so long.

Since its inception in 80s and throughout 90s PMLN always won on the back of establishment. It developed a political clout of its own in due time with the help of the very Generals whos comrads down the line it loves to curse nowadays.

Sharifs now have a complete system of mutual benefit in place right from the top down to the UC counselor level with roots that are over 40 years old and are subservient to their word of mouth.

Until recently, Sharifs have proven to be able to get away with anything and stay above the law...Shers above the law in the eyes of people who follow them Indeed!!! People have been witness to their power and have been in its Awe due to it and not without reason.

They stayed and strengthened their power even after orchestrating and attacking SCP after earlier they were down to taking money from Hameed Gul and got away with it in plain sight. They schemed against PPP with establishments help and even judiciary, ordering Justice Qayyums to give favourable judgements and skipping further along, they have proven their larger than life - above the law image by recently going on a spree of contempt without even a tv ban, more awesome for the already awe stricken followers indeed.

How can known criminals, one of who were caught instructing a Judge to do injustice on behalf of his elder brother, keep ruling us time and again is a testiment of who we love and why...

Now that the judges are asking them questions instead of keeping quite, they are furious for their followers to witness and cheer and so they are playing along the role of SULTAN RAHI in political distress. No wonder those awe striken people love them now even more.

For the thick skulled who still don't get it... This is no political genius of PMLN...these are crude human reactions like their habit of whataboutism since Panama disclosures.

So what's the strategy here? PMLN is playing the victim card...the underdog that was before the title of PTI, was conceded and handed over by the over confident PTI itself to PMLN.

How?

Instead of keeping a balance, PTI head over heels sided with a Judiciary who's members were already going soft on Nawaz and not ready to hand the culprits their due sentences in FAKE docs - contempt - Hudaibya etc ...written extensively and repeatedly before so not repeating.

In short, PTI should have asked more questions of this judiciary and demanded prompt action and protested anything that even hinted of special treatment to accused instead of their present, anything goes, laid back and taking-things-for-granted approach...

PTI did not politically and legally hound Sharifs - no review on lack of punishment - or even went to accountability court to show presence of even some observer lawyers and handed PMLN legal and political space to play the victims card and act like an underdog when they were actually being obliged with special treatment by the state institutions.

Why cry PTI? The underdog Fake Victim is getting popular again and PTI is losing its ability to mobilize the silent majority voter by its shoot in the foot mistakes of nepotism and posing as already in power with institutions when it is not even in power. Thus we see PTI losing hard fought political ground before Panama decision due to lack of action to legally and political challenge PMLN on every front, even against the free but still tentative judiciary.

PTI has managed to lose the political initiative all by itself. PTI is still hopeful to wait for judicial verdicts against PMLN...What about the time wasting appeals part PTI? They shall win the elections if you continue to wait and watch by the time you find out what happened. Press the legal battle front...

PMLN is facing an uphill task...in cricket terms...they are playing for achieving small targets, next 50 runs instead of 450 runs...one at a time...malign judiciary...malign PTI as pawns...completing term...Senate elections...then general elections...change constitution...bulldoze institutions down to size.

Imran Khan has to break the shackles of his placid political advisors and get back to playing his killer instinct and all out aggression...don't wait for ICC to act...snatch your victory on the basis of your struggle. The real underdog has to act now.

Losing a by election is not the end of the world but not learning from repeated mistakes might just result in something similar.
