Panama Case - Post Verdict Discussion and Updates

Does that apply to the last election as well? And will it be accepted if PML-N is again the majority party in the next elections despite the Panama verdict?

Why not?
Accepted? by whom? If they manage to be part of parliament that is the biggest criteria of being accepted by the public as well.
The only thing PMLN lacked and historically as well is Law making. That has been historically PPPs job to do that somehow.

For the first time in the history of Pakistan, military establishment is keeping itself away from the court affairs, and letting the relevant institutions perform their constitutional duties without pushing them.. still some people have a problem with this..

These democracy lovers want that even if a president and prime minister are caught killing someone, their cases should be decided through elections.

Democracy lovers don't know that true democracy doesn't revolve around specific individuals, and if an individual, regardless of his popularity, is a criminal, he should be tried in a court.

If courts decide that he be thrown in a jail, then he should be put behind bars even if he is still popular.

But the agenda here is different I can see, specially those who are brown foreigners in land of white..... they think of Pakistanis as somewhat inferior to them. They want to flip the rules entirely and want us to believe that what flip side they are advocating is actually not practiced in their host country..

Hypocrites...

Well said! Lots of foreign paid self proclaimed intellectuals coconuts who will bow to the laws of their masters country but want the opposite in Pakistan.

If you notice, Justice Khosa did not say a single word last week about the formation of the bench.

This the norm.. whenever some judge recuses himself from any bench..he does it on first hearing day.. us se pehle nahi.. hamesha yehi dekha hai..main ne tu ...

CJ Banatay hain... I don't know why he referred to registrar...

Even i didnt understand ke inhon ne registrar ko kiun bola? Ya tu CJ ko point out nahi karna chahtay thay...is liye registrar ko bola? Mera bhi yehi khyal hai ke bench tu CJ hi banaatay hain.. registrar nahi

Why not indeed. Those who undermine legal processes should take a good hard look at the consequences of their actions for the country, no matter how contrived to be nobly justified.

In any case, water under the bridge. Let us see what is past the next bend in this proverbial river.

well water under the bridge analogy does not really work since we prefer raising the bridge rather than making efforts to divert the flow of water that it never raises to that level.

I hope dearly that legal processes be left alone by political rhetoric

I am a bit perplexed too but it is a possibility too that registrar office presents the names of judges with available schedule/ time slots? and judges names to the CJ, that's why he referred to registrar office rather than CJ but it was probably a mistake by a combination of both and Justice Khosa has only referred to a registrar's office mistake out of regard.

Something strange is happening in the registrar's office ... there could just be a PMLN stooge in there with the dirty tricks. This was a slap down by JK.

The same legal processes that came up with the Doctrine of Necessity cannot be relied upon to do much that is according to the law, unless something changes drastically.

There is no room for doctrine of necessity in the constitution.
Either the whole constitution will be repealed or it will be suspended in case of any drastic change in the region concerning security and peace.

Ye tu new week ke liye cases lagaaye thay... sab judges ko hi cases fix honay thay.. tu sab judges hi available honge.. kisi bhi new case ke liye..

Even when..NAB prosecutor said today tht plzz suggest..tht hudaibya case be fixed for next week...then Justice Khosa remarked tht its the CJ's prerogative to make benches and fix them...

Hamesha yehi suna hai ke CJ makes benches... is liye ...aaj Justice Khosa ke registar par remarks samajh nahi aaye...jab inhon ne aaj bhi kaha ke cases fix karna aur bench banaana CJ ka prerogative hai...

Maybe you are right.. hosakta hai ke registrar ka bhi shayad koi role hota ho..but main role tu shayad CJ ka hi hota hai...in making benches.. suna tu yehi hai tht CJ makes benches

As you said....I also think he named registrar because he didnt want want to name CJ ..out of regard for CJ...

Despite there being no room in the Constitution, how could the SC come up with that logic? What is preventing it from doing so again, if the "necessity" arises? That is why it is important to examine this verdict and its aftermath very closely.

Interesting comment:

He (The Prime Minister) also said that most of Pakistan does not agree with Sharif’s disqualification by the Supreme Court.

(Does that make the Prime Minister of Pakistan a "foreign paid self proclaimed intellectual coconut hypocrite"? :D )

Loll..
I think..kisi ne inka verdict itni dafa nahi parha..jitna main ne.. is wajah se aksar meri memory saath de deti hai...inke verdict ke baaray main..

Waisy..ye benches kon banaata hai? CJ ya registrar? Aaj inhon ne kaha ke lagta hai ke registrar office ne mera verdict nahi parha..is liye ghalti se ye case mere saamnay lagaa diya.. ? Does registrat make benches on his own? Ya CJ banaatay hain? Registrar ko kiun bola inhon ne?

Lagta hey Justice Khosa kay verdict ka asar bhi sab sey zyadah app per hi hua hey

:lol::lol:

Ye aap ne bilkol theek kaha... when initial panama verdict came...despite NS not being disqualified at tht time.. Justice Khosa's verdict kept me motivated... it was like an anti depressant for me.. tab hi ..main ne inka verdict bohatt dafa parha tha..to keep myself motivated.. because it was such a hard hitting verdict tht i was like..ke wow....we still have such honest and daring ppl in our elite..jo sitting PM ke baaray main aisy comments likh saktay hain..

Ab bhi yehi hua.. he brought me back here..loll... when his name was included in this hudaibya bench.. he never disappoints.. he did what i expected from him..

What i loved even more today that not only tht he recused himself from the bench..today...but he repeated his earlier verdict and explained tht in front of his fellow judges..esp regd Ishaq dar he said tht i have alteady given my verdict regd Ishaq dar tht he is again accused now... ab kisi bhi judge ke liye inke verdict se disagree karna bhtt mushkil hoga... i am still skeptical about Justice Dost though and i hope Justice Qazi Faiz Isa too is not included in this bench.. but still it will be extremely difficult for any judge ot disagree with Justice Khosa's well reasoned verdict on hudaibya and its almost obvious tht hudaibya will be opened.... Just like at the time of initial panama verdict..his verdict kept me motivated..desipte it being minority verdict.. ab bhi yehi hai..tht i dont care about NS fate.. woh tu mujhe pata hai ke NS ..esp Maryam kisi na kisi tarah bach jaye gi cases/references main.. they are too strong... but again...i feel so proud and happy tht we still have ppl like Justice Khosa in our country who are so gracious, and honorable....who take moral high ground..
Everytime..Justice Khosa by his conduct ..gives me something to feel good about

Love the way The Hypocrite quotes an Indian to make a point!

As for the quoted comment, Sharif utterly failed in his GT road revolution. If majority people had really thought as he claimed, he would not be where he is now (& begging for an NRO!).

People stood up for Judiciary against a military dictator, but people are not standing up for Sharif against the Judiciary. Fools like The Hypocrite will continue to believe and preach otherwise.

"On the Supreme Court’s disqualification of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Abbasi said that "judiciary recently took a step, it removed the sitting prime minister. We accepted the verdict, the prime minister left office.”

He added, "however we have left it to history to judge whether history accepts the judgment or not."

However, he said that most of Pakistan does not agree with Nawaz's disqualification by the apex court on the basis of Iqama."

Let us see what history judges this step to be for Pakistan, as the PM pf Pakistan states above.
