@PakSword @Farah Sohail 62 , 63 cannot be changed that easily specially when even PMLN is .divided .. 2 /3 majority will now be achieved ...

I think Shiekh Rasheed should challenge whereas IK should focus on Zardari now

Yes 62/62 are sections of constitution and require 2/3rd majority which is not possible in current situation

Probably you are right but even of NS is leading the party he will lose his powers in next few months ... I think concentration should be on NAB cases and bringing Zardari down as well

Yes.. I said the same..in an earlier post tht it doesnt matter much even if NS remains party head of PML N..
If they decide tht they still should challenge 203... Then both PTI and Sheiih Rashid should challenge it jointly..like they fought panama case..or they both shouldnt.challenge it...

Because..if only Sh Rashid does..then..there will be more chances tht SC doesnt strike it down..as they will say tht Sh rashid has only one seat..and it will cause an embarrasment to petitioner and victory to PML N which may embolden them further...

So whatever the case..both PTI and SRA should form a joint strategy on this..

Farah - it does matter a lot if Nawaz is not able to be PMLN president, from political point of view within the party it matters a lot.

Politics is at its height - Zardari feeling the pressure and Sindh (specially bordering Punjab) is going to give tough time to PPP. If Arbab Rahim plays well with Liaqat Jatoi, I won’t be surprised that PTI winning a lot of major NA and PA seats in 2018 in Sindh as well.

PMLN splitting is happening sooner than later and new scenario in Punjab is politics minus Sharifs is getting clearer.

I will wait for @Arsalan to kindly fix the issue in pvt chat - @Farah Sohail & @PakSword - I didn’t get any notifications- so there is something wrong. I can’t even see any chats.

Also, PTI is planning to challenge only 203.. @Realistic Change please confirm..

Also..me and PakSword roughly went through tht bill...yesterday and what we understood is tht...5 yr disqualification is not a new thing in this bill....nor there is any change in 62/63.. Infact earlier ROPA 1976 also had this 5 yr term included in it.....and this section 232 in this new bill.passed .....which talks abt 5 yr term disqualification is similar to tht earlier ROPA act 1976..

We think 62/63 remains un changed...but since there was some confusion spread by some anchors like kamran khan and since we are no constituitional expert.. Can u plzz ask.../ confirm from your contacts in PTI...that our understanding of this bill...regd this 5 yr term disqualification is correct? tht there is no new 5 yr term disqualification included in this bill...but it was already there in this earlier ROPA act 1976...which is included in this bill too...and tht 62/63 remains completely unchanged?.. It will be good..if we can get it confirmed from some constituitional experts in PTI.... @Realistic Change

Also..plzz try to get our confusion cleared.. Although me and PakSword are quite satisfied after reading bill regd 5 yr term...and i think...this confusion was delberately created by pro PML N anchors like kamran khan.. Iss wajah se hi..shayad overall media ka ..iss par focus nahi tha..and we were surprised tht why is media only talking ab party presidency clause and no one is talking abt this 5 yr term disqualification thing..

After going through tht bill..humein kaafi hadd tak clear tu hua hai..ke yeh koi new inclusion hai hi nahi..infact ye pehle hi ROPA act 1976 main ye shamil thee..5 yr term.. And theres no change in 62/63.. Also, if we remember ..during panama review case...kh haris was arguing before th judges ke aap NS ko ROPA act par disqualify kar dein (which is for 5 yrs) and not on article 62( which is life time) ....but judges rejected his argument..

But as I said earlier..its still better to get it confirmed from some PTI legal experts too

From political POV..esp as far as internal politics of PML N...is concerned..this party presidency clause is important.. But i was saying..ke in practical terms..its not as important..as tht 5 yr term thing..(which we earlier thought..tht its introduced in 62/63) because if 62/63 had been changed..it wiuld mean tht disqualfied ppl can also return to national assembly again..which would be much more disastrous...
