The State of Palestine on Wednesday thanked the premier for his "strong response" on Israel, besides expressing gratitude to the government for extending support to the Palestinian cause.

A statement issued by the Palestine embassy in Islamabad also thanked the government for condemning Israeli aggression towards Palestine.

"Palestinians consider Pakistan as our second homeland and Pakistanis as our dearest brothers, who always supported Palestine on every forum of the world," it said.

The press release comes a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan categorically said that Pakistan could not recognise Israel as a state unless it gave freedom to Palestine.

ARTICLE CONTINUES AFTER AD
In a two-hour late-night interview aired on Dunya TV, the prime minister stated: “Quaid-i-Azam had said in 1948 that Pakistan could not recognise Israel unless it gave freedom to Palestinians.

“If we recognise Israel and ignore [the] tyranny faced by Palestinians, we will have to give up [the cause of] Kashmir as well, and this we cannot do.”

In the context of the United Arab Emirates, which has recently established ties with Israel, the prime minister said every state had its own foreign policy.
In a statement issued today, the Palestine embassy noted that the Pakistani government had always supported their cause. "The embassy heartily appreciates the stance of [PM Imran] when answering to a question about Israel."

It is only because of the love of Pakistanis towards Palestine that Israeli and Pakistani relations have never been established, it added.

"The embassy thanks the prime minister for such a strong response and also appreciates every individual of Pakistan, including political parties, media, and civil society, who is observing solidarity with Palestine in any possible way.

"We are hopeful that this support will be with us until we get an independent State of Palestine with Jerusalem Al-Quds as it's capital," the statement concluded.

Jinnah flatly rejected creation of Israel.

Termed it as illegitimate child of the West. Advocated it as a charade in the name of nation state doctrine.

There was no unless, until or buts.

On a serious note. If Palestinians comes to some sort of settlement with Jews in the near future, would Pakistan have to oust them as well from the pedestal and terminate all relations?

Did you not read my comment?

FM Qureshi also in the parliament talked about pre 1967 Israel.

Both are delusional to think that Pakistanis will recognize any shape or form of Israel.

I am just glad that they can't throw Pakistan as mediator in this like they have thrown Pakistan pretty much everywhere else knowingly or unknowingly.

You really dont understand Pakistan's stance on this issue.

Simply put, Pakistan cannot accept Israel until Palestine gets a fair settlement, which will never happen. Therefore, sentiment of Pakistan and Pakistani's is that we will stand with our Palestinian brother and sisters against the oppressor - Israel.

Pelestinian issue has two layers The pelistenian issue and Al Aqsa mosque if one is solved other will remain as conflict between Pakistan and Israel

Palestinians and Kashmiris are interlocked disputes. Pakistan Pm took correct decision on this israel would destroy Kashmir if he ever accepted its wrong doings before settlement. when Palestinians and Jews agree to a state then we will recognise both.

Most Arab countries--I think there are about 22 of them--don't recognize Israel or have any diplomatic relations with Israel. Some are supposed to have covert dealings when it comes to dealing with Iran. So really can't be said that 'Arabs' have recognized Israel.

The Arab countries had tried hard from 1948 on wards; Wars, financial incentives, diplomatic pressure, guerrilla warfare... Nothing worked and nothing would ever work because Israel has the unqualified support of the mightiest military force in human history, no less in part to the Israeli Lobbies in Washington DC. Remove that support today and you will see where Israel stands!
But short of removing that support, it's a hopeless scenario for the Palestinians. Generations of them are being raised under a genocidal supremacist regime. That the Palestinians have stood up for so long, against such odds, is a testament to their sense of nationhood. But some Arab countries are starting to move on and 'normalize' their relations with Israel to be on the good side of Washington and to challenge Iran (and perhaps Turkey). And a day may come when the Palestinians too get tired of the conflict and accept a Glorified Bantustan.

As to Pakistan--I think Pakistan and the rest of the Muslim world will recognize Israel when the Palestinians themselves are going to accept some solution.

My best hope for the Palestinians is that some generations down the road the Israelis will get out of their sense of superiority and accommodate the Palestinians as equal citizens in a bi-national state.

I really hope it will get materialized one fine day, however, I am skeptical if that day will ever come. If it had to, then it would've been already.
