Pakistan's Inherent Strength

After the defeat of germany Japan was already on verge of defeat.Hirosima and nagasaki were more like vendetta for pearl habour.

No it wasn't Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed because the Japanese believed in the code of Bushido and were turning Tokyo into a garrison city ready to sacrifice millions for the sake of the empire and their "God" the emperor. Millions more lives would have to have been lost before they surrendered and so they were warned of utter destruction if they did not surrender, and they still refused. They left us with no choice it was either use the bomb or get ready to bury thousands of more marines. Being that no one had ever used the bomb before the consequences of its use were not known at the time so perhaps in hindsight they would have reconsidered but at the time it was the logical decision, and definitively one I would make in a heartbeat.

By 2015 we will have close to 300 warheads primed.......one for every major city in India...:)

If Pakistan does not have 300 already. It could really be that large by now. :coffee:

You are posting rubbish.

Japan was not on verge of defeat. U.S. forces were battered from the German theater and its economy was reeling from the effects of the Great Depression and the German war. Truman had to weigh the options of continuing the course of conventional war at great cost the U.S. economically/military wise or force the hand of Japanese through "unimaginable force."

History only remembers the victor, not the financial status of victor.

The man who stood undefeated in over 100 battles did not have enough possessions to conduct his funeral.
Even during the times of severe hardship, Prophet Muhammad had several sword hanging at gate.

Do not bring Prophet Muhammad PBUH into this those were different times.

Nukes can be deterrent but not the strength.

It is necessary for a nation to posess nukes to be strong.

Nukes are sufficient for a nation to be considered strong.

But this is all contingent on delivery systems, quality and quantity of nukes as well as second strike capability.

Dr. Samar Mubarakmund is one of Pakistan's greatest scientist and is in the same league as Dr. Munir Ahmed Khan and Dr. Abdus Salam. I have a lot of respect for this gentleman, May allah Bless him and bestow his his mercy on him.

At last he clears the mystery surrounding Pakistan's ICBM capability, more over what can be achieved by merely extending the length of Shaheen-2 by just a couple of meters. :)

You seem to have ben in the US long enough to have bought the official US line.

Don't blame you, seeing as you have to live there and your account may be monitored.

Write in short plss

A few highlights (relating to the Nuclear weapons, delivery systems and Space program):

1. He clearly stated that Pakistan already possesses the 4th largest Nuclear Weapons arsenal.

2. During the 2002 military standoff b/w Pakistan and India, Pakistan was testing its Shaheen-1 missiles. The international parties were very active those days and monitored the tests. They were able to determine the accuracy of the missile (falling within a couple of tens of meters) and they also detected a cold nuclear test of the warhead (which is normally the approval-for-production test in Pakistan). This caused a great deal of panic, although it was a test launch.

3. Possession of nuclear weapons by Pakistan has deterred possible military conflicts (on a large scale) during the Kargil Conflict, the 2002-2003 Military Standoff and after the Mumbai Attacks.

4. If Dr. AQ Khan proliferated Nuclear Weapons technology, Iran and Libya would have made Nuclear Weapons by now. It has been 22 years, but both countries haven't made any significant advancement towards Nuclear Weapons.

5. Dr. Munir Ahmad Khan had the vision for a nuclear weapons project. He rightfully deserves the "father of the bomb" title, instead of AQ Khan. AQ Khan had contributions in only the centrifuges and enrichment technology. Dr. Munir didn't get the due credit because he kept a low profile which was necessary, unlike AQ Khan who went for publicity.

6. Shaheen-I has THREE versions. (in a previous interview of his with Hamid Mir, Dr. Samar stated that first Shaheen-I version 1 was developed. Then in 2002, Shaheen-1 version two was tested with a range of 700 km). Now the version 3 which has a range of 1000-1200 km has been tested (which is Shaheen-IA IMO).

7. He said that we have worked very responsibly, and we do not have aims of developing an ICBM-class missile because our target of minimum credible deterrence is being achieved for now. We had the capability, but made a mature decision of not pursuing development of very long range missiles.

8. He said that that Pakistan has the capability to build an SLV, for both LEOs and GEOs, but has yet to materialize one. We should develop an SLV now because we have already developed a satellite. An addition of a 2.5 m long third stage on the existing Shaheen-II can do the job.

9. SUPARCO has indigenously developed only 40-50% parts of the recently launched satellite. However, it is a significant advancement, and SUPARCO has also started work on the imaging satellite.

I hope this happens soon.

US had fully recovered from Great Depression. In fact war brought great dividends to its economy. It spurred on activity and employment unprecedented in US history.

If it had not recovered, how could it deploy its forces across the world?

The dropping of the atomic bomb was a statement of intent more than an effort to end the war. It told the world who is the boss and in no uncertain terms, it was US.

Japan had lost the war. The kamikaze attacks were a sign of desperation. Their Pacific fleet was wiped out and they had lost major islands to US.

4th largest nuclear arsenal but smallest economy among 7 countries who owned nuclear weapons by 1998.

Defence budget of your country suggest that you failed to do same, due to technical reasons.

The title is obviously misleading.

Pakistan's inherent strength is us the people and our trust in our beloved country and its institutions.

If we the people lose that trust, it won't matter if we have 30 bombs or 3000 bombs, our country will have hard time surviving.

Just look at Commie Soviets. They had the biggest or the at least the second biggest nukie arsenal in the world. Their bombs numbered in 10s of 1000s, their delivery systems were 1000 times better than what us the Pakistanis can ever think off.

But the Commies lost, and lost big time and no nukie bumb could save them. The country disintegrated and many of their states became independent.

So my brothers and sisters from Pakistan,

Never forget that nuclear bombs are only small part of the overall strength of a country.

Samar Mand is a nukie scientist so obviously he is going to play up his area.

But we the people must resist the urge to become blabber mouth and start thumping our chests just because a guy comes on TV and boasts about the bombs or the missiles.

peace

dr samar mubarkh is a fraud but we have proud that our nuclear weapons growing day by day we have crossed india many years ago

and we should trust a leghari? shame on you. what have you done for this country?

and he is so down to earth, no doubt Allah loves humble people. All Pakistani scientists a few well known and thousands unknown who worked day and night for making Pakistan achieve great successes in both nuclear and missile technologies. May allah bless them all and make their work easier. Salute to them all.

This interview has cleared a lot of fan boy rumors. a very informative, balanced and sensible interview.

Why do you guys always burn reading a pro-pakistani thread and attempt to derail?
