Pakistan's French Subs: A Threat

Going back to submarines and not Kasmire.........

Pakistan should have more attack/ patrol subs as well as one man subs
I wonder what's the fastest sub in the world
there are lots of crazy ideas on the sub technology
I will post them once i find links




Battleships ?

didn't the concepts of Battleships died in WW2 Neo because of its ineffiecancy

If you want to have a powerful warship its either a Frigate, Cruiser or a misslecarrier: (a 300 meter warship that carries huge amount of Missles,) not battleships

Actually just a point of interest Battleships have enjoyed a revival (until last year). Simply because they can still have huge firepower for shore bombardment. Also it was found that they were better suited to taking damage than a lot of the newer ships out there. In fact the U.S. navy maintained several battleships during the 90's (The Iowa class) and two were maintained to a level where they could be brought back to service quickly (until last year)

I was reading on wikipedia that pakistan has now a requirement of 4 new attack subs and the pakistani offical have entered into negotiations with the Germany for the acquision of U-214. Anybody has any confirm news on that other then wikipedia. And this means that we will now have 7 SSKs. And what about the french marlin? are we going to acquire that as well along with the u-214. PN has experience with the french subs in the past.

You are talking of billion dollars / euros. Don't believe Wiks. A beer on me if you sign the deal within the next 3 years and that too for not more than two subs fm one country. Sorry your economy can't afford it yet. The Pakistan Army and Airforce need bigger budgets than the Navy and they will not give a billion euros for two or three subs to the Navy.

Its True that Pak Navy needs more funding like AN said
we really need to boost our economy if we are to see any difference - Now I sound like a broken record ! sigh :|

but then I read BBC report back in 2003 we started constructing Augosta 90B ?
