What's new

Pakistan's first potential Football Superstar "Alamgir Ghazi"

It's really ridiculous that this is still a problem for us. However, amateur level racism does pervade the Sunday leagues and this also puts parents off.
Agreed, racism still a thing, but among pro clubs not much, I’ve seen so many kids and friends who had to drop being in academies because their parents told them to “get a real job” and “football is just a hobby” and were forced to leave, I’m grateful my parents don’t think like that, but I’d say around 85% of Pakistani parents think like that.

It definitely is a cultural thing. I think with the newer generation things will change.

It will for sure, such as the young talent zidane Iqbal who was born to a newer generation of Pakistani parents, I think we are slowly going to see the rise of young British Pakistanis footballers very soon, when I get married in a few years and have kids, I will encourage them to study while also playing sports, and if good enough I will support them fully to go pro and push them.

Exactly. That is healthy. Our parents had a very different view of life which considering their circumstances is totally understandable. Things have changed now. The world has changed. I support my children in anything they would like to become.

Pakistan should also invest in other sports. It is pathetic to concentrate on cricket. That culture needs to change quickly. Cricket should not drain all funds which are already limited to begin with.
How come we dont have more good football players? What is the British-Pakistani community doing? There are over 1 million Pakistanis in the UK and yet no big player.

Look at the French-Algerian stars past and current. Dutch-Turkish players. German-Turkish. Dutch-Moroccan. French-Moroccan.

Pakistan Football Federation could benefit from British-Pakistani players. The same way Turkish national team recruits players from Holland, Germany, Belgium and Austria + other european Countries.

Same with Morocco. Selecting players from Holland, Belgium, Germany and France.

Algerian team where the majority of players are french born.

Absolutely. Considering the amount of Pak expats living in the UK we should have seen some homegrown talent by now. I am afraid it is a cultural thing. Parents need to be supportive of their children. Especially if they have talent.

Let me tell you that football has become a dirty business. There is so much money involved. Insane amount of corruption. FIFA is a bulwark of corruption. Even extremely good talents often don't make it to the top. There is a lot of bias and discrimination too. Football is very complicated. Top players who don't make it at specific clubs go elsewhere and become top players. There are countless examples. The coach and club has to be a match for the player. Otherwise it is game over.

I’ve been vocal about Pakistan exploring different sports, cricket is great, but getting stuck in one sports is bad, there’s a reason why China is pushing so hard into football because they know the benefits of becoming a football powerhouse, Pakistan has the talent, they just need the resources and backing, football just doesn’t bring Pakistan’s name even more global, it brings endless amount of investments, revenues and even tourism, it can open doors to so many treasures, just hope Pakistani people and government one day realise their potential and push football along with other sports.

If Pakistan can excel in hockey it can also excel in football. Two fast paced games where technical skills are required. Imran Khan should definitely focus on improving sporting facilities for youngsters. He himself is a sports fanatic.

He seems chitrali, they are awesome athletes and mostly love football in a cricket crazy country. I had a senior named rasool, a chitrali with good football skills, even made it to national level. He then played for a team in iran.

Have you ever heard name like zeesh rehman? On what basis you used word "first"?

Zeesh Rehman was a First Professional Grade player not necessary first player with Star power
He was not necessarily the most elegant players , great on high balls

This Alamgir Guy is playing at a very high level in midfield got it all
a) Speed
b) Long Passing
c) Short passing
d) CDM (Central Defensive Qualities)
e) Also pushing up to become a Playmaker

Never seen this type of quality in Pakistani player before , this guy is real deal

When the Arab Commentator becomes your fan you know , he is good they never say anything positive easily against their own national team

Yaar, if you say you want to be a football you get chittar from ammi and Abbu...lol

There were a lot of talented youngsters, but they never took it beyond the playground. Non existent family support.

Wow. I didn't know the Pakistani team had such a talent. I can already guage by his handling and movement that this guy is head and shoulders above the rest. His movement with the ball is excellent. His dribble is awesome. Insight is also very good. Passing is very good. He is very speedy. He is creative and tries to create opportunities, but the rest doesn't understand him. He is a gem. I wonder which club he plays for. He has the potential to grow. He should be scouted and move to some European club. Play there for a few good years and he can become really good.

Edit: Wow. He is from Chitral. I didn't know that. Chitralis are football crazy. Like players from Lyari. I would love to see Pakistan do well in football. Especially since football is so close to my heart. When I visit Chitral I often play with some locals there in Ayun. The passion these guys have for the game is like no other. These guys are so organised and passionate about the game. They organize tournaments and each team has their own kit.

I have seen something special about Chitralis. They have the ability to survive outside their comfort zone. They are very strong physically and mentally. A Chitrali player like him would have zero problems adjusting abroad which is often a problem for many top talents even from football nations like Argentina and Brazil. He hails from a cold region and some parts of Europe can be cold. Nothing like Chitral though.

Football is part of my life. I have played at Ajax youth academy and got scouted at a young age, but moved to the UK and unfortunately stopped playing at a higher level. Still played plenty in the UK. I still play football with some Turkish and Dutch friends in free time. Some play at top clubs at the Eredivisie here in The Netherlands which is the Dutch premier league.
Always loved watching ajax play.. nice to know someone here had certain association to it.

I would love to see Pakistani players perform in European leagues. That would be a moment of pride and joy. Just look at where Turkey is today. Playing and winning like lions.

Another excellent place to start for Pak players is in Turkish league.

Too much running. I rather just stay home and eat mommy’s hand made parathas playing PubG and sipping on milo’s and sting because I’m a new generation pakistani social degenerate. When I get tired from pubG I can occasionally take a break to mutt maar on tik tok. Showering maybe every other week.

Football is too much harrrd work, yaaaaar.

Firstly wow you trained with Ajax, very impressive.

Secondly wrt professional footballers we need to setup academies like the African clubs have. Get players into lower level European leagues for a start. Within 15-20 years we could fly up the fifa rankings. Step 1 is our own version of Claire Fontaine.
