Just goes to show Pakistanis will accept any fate that is imposed on them. very sad.

.
I wonder how they measure "happiness'' ?? Sound ridiculous.

Of course you think its ridiculous but I bet you find the guarantee of the 'pursuit of happiness' in the US constitution perfectly reasonable and commendable. LOL! You Indians are hypocrites. Jealousy is a bad thing. Grow up.

Still its ridiculous. And why any Indian would get jealous with someone's happiness??
Again, you can't measure "happiness' . its an internal feeling.
But ya, I can hear every morning " laughs of happiness' from across the border. That great thing if you guys are happy.
Tumhari Khusi mai hamaari Khusi. :-)

The middle class is thriving, even though official economic figures still desire to be far better, unofficial cash based economy is huge (I know, it is not good in terms of tax collection etc., but just wanted to mention that).

Average Pakistani is far happier than our neighbors on the East and West.
Epic Fail.
India has a much larger informal economy than Pakistan.

Also Pakistan has much poorer living standards than India.

.
How about reading the bold Part's in OP ? :azn:
I did. If you r going through these six factors to make to happiness index, then india is much better than any Asian country.
But this should not be scale of happiness.
Happiness is something internal peace of mind state. Not these ridiculous factors.

.
Why you are here on this thread? this thread Upsetting you and is not making you happy at all. Lay off to put some positive score on overall happiness index of india.

-Using a collection of variables. Out of the six variables two can easily be quantified i.e. life expectancy and per capita GDP. For the other more vague variables such as generosity/ social support etc. scales are usually defined and based on those scales the variables are measured and then results are compiled. The said variables usually go through a whole range of statistical tests and their reliability and validity are checked before any such claim is made.

- Lastly, why are we competing with a country who already had a worse ranking than us? The bigger news is Pakistan jumped a few places up in the happiness index instead of "wohoo!!! we beat India" ...

Indians have been hit hard by recent polls where they were number one in:

1. Ignorance
2. Racism

They wanted to beat Pakistan in this poll too but they couldnt. LOL!

Chill man, it is not me who compiled this report. It is UN, take it up with them.

The number of poor in India is more than Pakistan's total population. People without toilets even thrice the size of Pakistan's population.

So try harder...

Intersting, despite all the troubles that Pakistan has been facing, we are still far happier than Indians. In fact Pakistanis are more happier than few years back.

Thumbs up for Pakistan. Keep it up you guys!

For Indians: No matter what shining numbers you have on paper for your GDP, the inherent jealousy will always make you unhappy,

Pakistanis are happier than people in India: UN report

NEW YORK: Pakistan continues to be happier than India, according to the United Nations-sanctioned World Happiness Report 2017.

Out of a list of 155 countries, Pakistan has been ranked at 80 while India stands at 122. Interestingly last year, Pakistan came on 92 while India was placed at 118.

The latest report, produced by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), a global initiative launched by the United Nations in 2012, shows Pakistanis continues to be more content, while Indians, on the other side, witness further deterioration on several fronts including citizens well-being that majorly contribute to evaluation of the rankings.

The rankings are based on six factors — per capita gross domestic product, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity, social support and absence of corruption in government or business.

“The lowest countries are typically marked by low values in all six variables,” said the report, produced with the support of the Ernesto Illy Foundation.

Norway has displaced Denmark as the world’s happiest country and the report called on nations to build social trust and equality to improve the wellbeing of their citizens.

Countries in sub-Saharan Africa, along with Syria and Yemen, are the least happy of the 155 countries ranked in the fifth annual report released at the United Nations.

“Happy countries are the ones that have a healthy balance of prosperity, as conventionally measured, and social capital, meaning a high degree of trust in a society, low inequality and confidence in government,” Jeffrey Sachs, the director of the SDSN and a special advisor to the United Nations Secretary-General, said in an interview.

The aim of the report, he added, is to provide another tool for governments, business and civil society to help their countries find a better way to wellbeing.

Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Finland, Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Sweden rounded out the top ten countries.

South Sudan, Liberia, Guinea, Togo, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi and the Central African Republic were at the bottom.

Germany was ranked 16, followed by the United Kingdom (19) and France (31). The United States dropped one spot to 14.

Sachs said the United States is falling in the ranking due to inequality, distrust and corruption. Economic measures that the administration of President Donald Trump is trying to pursue, he added, will make things worse.

“They are all aimed at increasing inequality – tax cuts at the top, throwing people off the healthcare rolls, cutting Meals on Wheels in order to raise military spending. I think everything that has been proposed goes in the wrong direction,” he explained.

There were some this sort of surveys also.
