Yes... but still it looks odd to people and is more common among South East Asians and some other minorites. I would personally shave it in case people in public or at a workplace would see you as a hairy beast contributing to the stereotypes they have towards Muslims.

Maghrebis are border-line Berber.. hell look at their DNA and you will see they are like 20% Arab. Also, Moroccans can be quite racist towards most races except Whites(god race to them), and Arabs.

O sorry I misread you....island people ar least south east Asians rarely have hair....my guess is their environment and breeding....those with indian routes are hairier though not nearly as hairy as South Asians or Arabs. ...but now everyone can go for wax or shaving.....
