Pakistani Thermal Imager for T-85, T-80ud

An EXTREMELY DIFFICULT thing by a private party to do in Pakistan. Others have tried and failed miserably in the past.

the private firms in defence sector are flourshing well. we know of quite a lot of names now which are doing a lot of good for Pakistan military forces.

Integrated Dynamics
One such Company is Integrated Dynamics, a privately held Pakistani company that drew attention at the IDEAS 2008 expo. It is a developer and manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles which is exported to Australia, Spain, South Korea and Libya and the United States. The UAV Company is an example of a new generation of private defense companies in Pakistan that have grown with the emerging needs of Pakistani military and export opportunities to both military and civilian sectors abroad.

SATUMA
SATUMA (Surveillance And Target Unmanned Aircraft), established in 1989, is a team of highly dedicated, qualified and skilled engineers involved in research and development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. As the company name implies, SATUMA has been very focused in its objective of developing UAVs indigenously for Pakistan Armed Forces and International customers.
:..Welcome to [SATUMA]..:

there are many more making Binoculars, telescopes but these two mentioned above have acheived bigger goals! :yahoo:

this involvement of private sector in Pakistan Defense industry is a realy good sign and can lead to the destiny of self reliance in military feild!

regards!

Wait....

Do we have T-85 in operation?

I mean is it Type 85, the Chinese tank or the Ukrainian T-85? Because as far as i know, we purchased T-80....

Integrated Dynamics is a Government of Pakistan owned entity.

Satuma has been making UAV's for a long-time. Unfortunately and until to-date they have not had the breakthrough they were looking for. I have visited their facilities in Kahuta and they are practically surviving on their PAF project.

Technology private-owned companies have always had a difficult time to survive in Pakistan mainly owing to non-existent government or financial support . Most tech companies that are doing any work are primarily Government of Pakistan owned.

T-85 II AP= Chinese, in service

T-80 ud= Ukrainian, in service

chinese T 85 i dont think so better than T 80 UD as they are of old technology

Developing and improving the quality and performance of components, in my thinking, will pay greater dividends for Pakistani industry than putting out large units of poor quality -- we continue to read that markets in Africa be explored for Pakistani defense products because they are "cheap" and afordable to those armed forces - I would offer that we reject that in favor of quality, performance and a great deal of thought into the kinds of relationships such commercial and security transactions entail. Having said that allow me to add that before exploring any kind of market abroad, quality and performance become minimum standards with the Pakistani armed forces and the recognition of this will serve to propel demand/sales of defense products abroad.

Being an engineer, i hope i can set up a firm to supply Pakistan with such goodies....

Wish me luck :)

what kind of engineer are you?? and do think you can establish a firm that makes electro optics equipment for military as well as some commercial things for public use...:pakistan:

I am currently pursuing BS Electrical Engineering in Pennsylvania, USA.

My plans are certainly something in the defense field....but that depends a lot on my research.

Note that ATCOP is part of the GIDS Group. ATCOP is the local partner for Thales Optroniques and jointly both are involved in the integration of the Catherine FC thermal imager in 900 Pakistan MBTs (T80UD, T85IIAP & Al Khalid). This program also entailed a transfer of technology from Thales to ATCOP of the Catherine FC with 600 CFC CBUs being locally produced by ATCOP. With that the CFC can be considered indigenous and it’s something Pakistan should be very proud of.
