Pakistani Students Bag 2nd Prize In Huawei ICT Competition
After a competitive fight, Pakistani team comprising of three students stood second in Huawei ICT Competition.

  • The theme of Huawei ICT competition this year was “Connecting Glory Future”.
  • It was successfully concluded at the Huawei Songshan Lake Base in Dongguan.
  • Pakistani team comprising of three students won the second prize.
  • The contest has attracted 61 countries from all over the world, 1600+ colleges and universities since 2018.
Achieving yet another feat in the field of technology, Pakistani students have bagged second prize in the competition. Huawei ICT Competition 2018-2019 Global Finals were hosted by Huawei and featuring the theme of “Connecting Glory Future”. It was successfully concluded at the Huawei Songshan Lake Base in Dongguan.

Pakistani team, which consisted of three students, won the second prize. Malaysian and Algerian team both shared the first prize of the practice competition in network track. Huawei ICT Competition Pakistan 2018-2019 was launched on September 6, 2018.

Winning students were Zohaib Anwar of Virtual University Lahore, Shamim Iqbal of Virtual University Lahore and Jawaria Abbas of Lahore Leads University mentored by Mr Muhammad Ahsan Malik, Corvit Networks Lahore attended the event.

Roadshow and workshops were conducted at 53 universities and academic institutions across Pakistan, making it one of the largest events in Higher Education in Pakistan. It also made it the largest in the overseas area of Huawei ICT Competition globally.

The number of participants at roadshows was more than 15,000 while the successful online applicants in Pakistan reached 10,672. Over 30 locations and 5000+ students attended the exam conducted on Huawei‘s e-learning platform.

Top 300 students are invited to attend the Round 2 from which 171 students passed HCNA Certification out of 270 certification exam attendees. Then the top 100 participated in the national finals. Then the most competitive top 6 students were selected for the Middle East Regional Finals.

3 out of the top 6 students qualified for the International Finals after the Middle East Regional Final. Huawei has so far been successful in establishing 15 Huawei ICT Academies across Pakistan. This program provides opportunities to promote studies of advanced technologies through R&D and adopt Huawei’s globally renowned university-enterprise cooperation model.
