Pakistan Air Force day is being celebrated across the country on Saturday (today) to pay homage to the martyrs of PAF in defending the country during the Indo-Pak War in 1965.

A notable event of the war was that Pakistan Air Force flying ace Muhammad Mahmood Alam shot down five planes of Indian Air Force in less than a minute.

A day earlier, the nation observed Defence and Martyrs Day to pay tributes to the martyrs and ghazis and reaffirm commitment to defend the motherland against all threats.

It was on this day in 1965 that the Indian forces crossed international border in the darkness of night to attack Pakistan but the nation foiled nefarious designs of the enemy.

The Defense and Martyrs Day was also being marked as Kashmir Solidarity Day to show support of Pakistani nation to the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir who have been under lockdown for over a month now.

During the main ceremony of Defence Day, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi yesterday, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday said, we are prepared and ready to fight till last bullet, last breath and last soldier for Kashmir.

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan says Pakistan Air Force is ever ready to protect the blue skies of the country.

Addressing Martyrs’ Day ceremony at Air Headquarters in Islamabad on Saturday, he said “PAF’s glaring victory against the enemy during Operation Swift Retort showed the world the capability of our Shaheens,” Radio Pakistan reported.

The Air Chief said, “Sacrifices of our forefathers demand unity and patriotism amongst us.”

Talking about the Kashmir issue, he said we stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri brothers in their struggle for the right of self-determination.

Later, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan laid floral wreath and offered Fateha at the Martyrs’ Monument.

Principal Staff Officers and a large number of Airmen attended the ceremony.

In connection with the PAF Day, a wreath-laying ceremony was also held at the grave of country’s youngest Nishan-e-Haider Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed in Karachi.

A PAF Contingent led by Air Vice Marshal Ghulam Abbas Ghumman, the Air Officer Commanding, the Southern Air Command, offered Fateha and laid floral wreath at the grave of Rashid Minhas Shaheed on behalf of the Air Chief.

The contingent paid homage to the young pilot who sacrificed his life in the defence of motherland, showing exceptional courage and determination.

Dear Fellows !
What kind of AirForce Days, I LOVE PAF Alot, but i hate PAF the most at such events, when they keep the Bloody Civilians far away from the AIRSHOW Venue.
I remember, last year i was overfilled with Joy for 6-Sept and on the very day, i with my very few friends went there at the Lahore Base, sad to narrate but even The very junior soldier simply said me a thing : "Pure Civilians Not Allowed". and turned his face."

Take funds and tax from us and keep us away from having a glimpse of such aircraft even by standing at a great distance, those which are the inventory of OUR OWN COUNTRY.
PA and PN are much more friendly and caring to public, but THE aIR Force is only Rude at such events.

At least it shouldn't be called an AirFORCE DAY then if it is nothing for public.

It was for the public. General Public with a CNIC was allowed at Qasim AB and Peshawar AFB

@40:00 what he did about nuclear program... :o::o::o::o: @Windjammer can anyone tell?

@The Eagle plz listen this

He is referring to what the American Spy Satellites once supposedly photographed sitting in a Baluchistan airfield and termed it as Pakistan's smoking gun.

Spent some time with this squadron at the beginning of the year. The OC is a great professional, all his career has mostly been on Vipers including an overseas tour on exchange. One of the pilots in this program did his flying instructors course with PLAAF in China, he had very interesting stories.
