What's new

Pakistani man who blasphemed on Facebook is given death penalty

Well, death penalty may have been awarded now or in the past for similar offences but the fact remains, how many times if ever it was carried out. It's now a common belief that religion is the root cause of all wars, then why some people deliberately stir up the hornets nest. In Singapore, you get whipped if caught spitting on the streets hence the roads look as clean as a food court, it may be very harsh for any Paan or Gutka chewing individuals but that's the law of the land hence it's implemented.... similarly unlike some who were killed for merely transporting Cows in a country known to be the biggest exporter of Beef, one can claim that at least there's a clear line drawn for blasphemy which shouldn't be trespassed.

Nobody has ever been executed by the state for blasphemy in Pakistan. Personally am not a fan but to be fair this law applies to abuse against all religions. (http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/...uslim-man-blasphemy-laws-160620151633846.html). One can only laugh at the Indian fanboys having a go at Pakistan whilst Hindu radical cow vigilantes go around killing and injuring people in full view of Indian police. Just one example.

I can see Pakistani Members already refraining to reply ( even ridicule this decision ) due to the Possible Outcome !

Jammer Mia... Indian hate has made you Blind. Ad u know what, Stay on course and you will soon get even better as i had warned you some time ago.

You are Comparing a Court Ruling in which the man is to to Hanged LEGALLY to an accident/incident of cows which itself is ILLEGAL by Law in that Country.

Im loving the way you are "Shying" away to comment n ridicule what you know for sure is wrong. Since you love Indian Topics better, Now dont even dare to comment on "Indian Freedom of Speech", where in Pakistan you cannot use you your own keyboard !

Oh so you consider your self as a keyboard mentor. LoL.
it's in Indians nature to demean Pakistan in whatever way possible, your brethren earn their rice bowl in countries where they will chop off your hands and head without a second chance but that is acceptable to Indians since money from those countries stops the starvation and throws in a colour TV. Whether one likes it or no, every country has it's own laws which it has right to exercise....wonder why the Indians were throwing tantrums when Amazon produced some products with Indian flag and Gandhi's picture on them.
As for so called Indian freedom of speech, someone like, Arundhati Roy, will champion that unreservedly.... so please don't act like a moral Mule only to ridicule yourself.
As i said, no one has ever been executed for blasphemy by the authorities.

.
Is this blasphemy law a Pakistani law or Islamic law? Does it apply on non-Muslims too in Pakistan? Don't Pakistani/Muslims see how nonsensical this law is and that there is no Divinity or Spirituality in killing people

Killing people just for expressing their views?!!

And these people have the face to complain about Cows in India, considering they get killed officially by the govt for free speech.
What a bunch of hypocrites.

Pakistanis should drown themselves in shame...lol ....and these fellows talk about cow vigilantism in India ...ha ha

I am happy for Pakistanis. May they follow their religion of peace in letter & spirit.

Thank you! Nehru

Just like ancestors who didn't find Hindu to be blasphemous.
On topic-
Good to see blasphemy aisle leading to death.
Poor chap RIP. You were born in wrong country.

Being a WhatsApp group admin seems a risky job, at least in India. An admin of a WhatsApp group was recently arrested in the country after a member shared objectionable content in the group.

According to News18, police in the Indian state of Karnataka arrested last week Krishna Sanna Thamma Naik, an admin of the WhatsApp, ‘The Balse Boys’, after a member shared a morphed image of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The image was distorted to make it look “ugly and obscene,” police said.

Govt warns WhatsApp users against video call scam

Ganesh, who posted the photoshopped image in the group, was also taken into custody.

The arrests were made after a complaint was lodged by a resident of Bhatkal. A third accused Balkrishna, who is also named in the complaint, is still at large.

This is the first time a WhatsApp group administrator has been arrested on such charges in Karnataka.

Beware of this latest WhatsApp scam

Last year, two Indian state governments had issued directives, saying social media administrators were liable for content circulated in groups and could be prosecuted for sharing any factually incorrect, rumour or misleading information. Although the ruling was overturned by the Delhi High Court last December, the recent arrests signal otherwise.

WhatsApp is the most popular messaging service in India with over 160 million monthly active users.

And were they convicted and what were their punishments?

Only the harshest acts like indulging in terrorism or brutally raping someone, carry death punishments in India.

Sunjay Dutt who was helping terrorists by keeping arms has just been released from jail earlier than his sentence period for his good behavior.

Here in India we have a big debate that should capital punishment be awarded to even terrorists, no religious angle there, do you really believe that any religion can teach kill people for Facebook post???
