Same stories we heard in Swat, Bajur, SWA, Orakzai, but in the end, militants were on the run, army supply route was safe and are still safe to this day with uninterrupted supply happening with units / formations going out and moving in on routine basis.

Nothing to be worried about. And the article is making a fuss out of just a small issue.
Are we reading the same article? Basically the P.A. is cooped up and has yielded territory to the militants without a fight. Troops in Miranshah are either there for show or as some sort of hostages. The End.

No, they just aren't going "NATO" on the locals --- the sons of the land!

you win through HUMINT, you win by having the people on your side and cooperating with you. They are our people and they are themselves suffering because certain 'anti-social' elements disturb the peace. In your case in Afghanistan, you are unfortunate enough to be perceived as foreign occupiers. We dont have that disadvantage.

Why don't you overcome your UTTER lack of knowledge of the area, it's sub-culture and history --- you are not really in a position to pass any judgement or comments on this subject until then

I understand Pakistan gives a lot of weight to intelligence ops. The problem with that is it favors extended human suffering. Swat is the prime example, the P.A. wanted the populace to feel the Talibs' heavy hand before it was willing to take the offensive. That's wrong, for in a "proper" state where the Army is subordinate to the civilians the politicians would have taken the lead and hammered out a hope-inspiring first. That would have sucked support away from the Talibs more quickly and thoroughly. The was Swat was re-conquered was spotty (just ask Malala) and offered the locals nothing other than freedom from the Talibs, ignoring the poor governance that drove them to see the Talibs as an alternative in the first place.

Why do we use Google Earth rather than always relying on what we can see on the ground?

I swear to God if that doesn't bring tears to our eyes or makes our faces burn with shame when we say that this isn't our war or that this is a mercenary army, then nothing will. May God help us if thats true.
i agree, and i also say shame on these politician on playing their dirty political games on our army, they always mourn on martial laws but never on these brave young soldiers, who lost their bodyparts! we need serious policy makers and polticians as well who provide strong political support to our army as well as plan their strategies in order to create dynamic equilibirium.

Only want to say today many Turks staying with Pakistan and following your efforts aganist terrorism,May Allah rest souls of martyrs and give power to soldiers who fighting aganist terrorism.

Jive Pakistan.
