Islamabad, Nov 19, IRNA -- A Pakistan Navy Mission, comprising two Pakistani Ships, will arrive at Bandar Abbas port on November 20 for a period of four days.
A statement of naval section of Pakistan embassy in Tehran said the navy mission is in line with great maritime tradition, aiming to further strengthen the existing warm and cordial relations.
“The Pakistani Task Force is Commanded by Captain Khalid Pervez, who is also the Commander of 10th Patrol Craft Squadron, whereas Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) RAH NAWARD (Sail Training Ship) is commanded by Commander Fawad Khalique and PNS DEHSHAT (Fast Attack Craft (Missile)) is commanded by Commander Muhammad Ali,” it said.
The statement further said historically, the two countries enjoy cordial relations since independence as Iran was the first Muslim country to recognize Pakistan and Pakistan was the first country to recognize the Islamic Revolution.
“The two countries are founding members of the ECO and the OIC and actively co-operate on international and regional forums. The defense relations between the two countries are also improving. Pakistan has strong admiration and regard for the valiant Iranian people and the naval comrades,” it said.
It added that the PN ships’ visit to Bandar Abbas will enable to enrich from the mutual experiences and bring sincere wishes and prayers for peace and prosperity for the people of Iran and look forward for enhanced co-operation in future endeavors.
