Pakistani Economy Achieves 6% Growth rate

Nice!

I foresee 2017 in the 7% to 9% growth rate bracket.

Doubt 9% unless there were admin and governance changes and corrupt brought to book. Birth level must also be kept in check so that the most gains could be achieved. You need a high growth rate to sustain quickly growing population

9% is the aim... cpec is not just about roads and harbours... industrial zones set up with chinese help will see chinese move some industry here... to free their own labour for high end market now *cars planes high techs* as they are ready for it now....

Could very well be. I agree population growth is critical... female literacy improvement usually has a strong correlation to population reduction.

That's why I am all for girls schools in rural areas. It has a definite positive impact on the growth rate.

Your own government report
Pakistan gdp growth rate for 2015-2016 financial year is 4.7%

Its just your thoughts or u plan to put back up data on this??

You can visit imf website for growth projections
IMF's growth projections never hit their mark. Compare the projections with the actual numbers fron the past. And there's a reason for that. IMF's projection come from a mix of econometric models and subjective judgement of the staff.

I don't believe it, may cross 5% this year but not 6.
Yep still some drag on textiles and agricultural. Other industries have had a remarkable run.

No.. It speaks of a report by Forbes, Open the damned link you lazy oaf
You mean this Forbes? :happy:

Having said that, 4% is decent economic growth. here in america, we've been stagnant at 1% growth over the last 8 years which is only gonna get worse now that dump err...I mean trump is in the office. :wacko:

If administration can be stream lined, corruption and terrorism controlled..we can easily cross the 10% mark for next few years..after all Musharraf achieved the second fastest growing economy of Asia...

Huh? So the credit goes to a dictator that I, sitting in the US knows he stole $ 200 million of tax payer's money to build empires in the States and in Dubai and Turkey? Only in Pakistan will you allow a thief of your choice to be called "the man" and another one "the corrupt". This is the reason why Pakistan's been behind.

The economy Mr. General had created was all transportation based and running on the billions provided by the US, all going to his buddies responsible for NATO equipment transportation. Had he build one real factory from it, you'd see people working there. Economies and public works related projects don't disappear with dictators if they ever built one. Sad to see some people's state of mind on here.

Educated mothers focus on quality of life rather than quantity of life and do not become human reproduction factories which is a curse we are carrying from out agrarian past.

Most of the benefits being reaped right now were actually sown by Musharraf..including the education reforms and CPEC. ..agree Mush made corruption money and he is not secretive about it..but the Sharifs and Bhuttos are far more corrupt..they outright used politics to steal the whole country...they have far larger overseas empires than Mush can ever dream..

Some stuff in the little picture is false. Forbes is just a magazine and publishes from credible authors. Doesn't mean it can't make a mistake. For example, the ADB and the WB had estimated that by the end of this year, if Pakistan was to regulate her "hidden economy" in real estate, it would've added another trillion, or more rupees to the GDP so add a 100 billion to the number you provided. This isn't counting in all other industry and job related growth as I don't have those number. But the GDP next year when announced, should be closed to $ 500 billion or so. Thanks

One word
Fantastic :pakistan::cheers:

https://www.geo.tv/latest/125330-Pa...proving-PSX-index-gains-400-since-2009-Forbes

“The country’s economy grew close to 6 percent in 2016, up from 4.8 percent in 2015, with inflation running around 4 percent, down from 10 percent four years ago,” the report added.

This has happened first time since 2004 ,This is probably the happiest news to end the year:pakistan:
As this makes hopes for Pakistan to achieve targeted growth rates for the CPEC.

This is nice. Pakistan needs to sustain these figures for a long time for real change.

Sir, Mr. General gave the control of the Gawader port to the Chinese from Dubai holdings as they were failing to operate the port. Mr. General also asked the Chinese PLAAN to feel free to refuel their ships here as there was nothing else going on. The US objected to it pretty strongly so I know this entire drama.

The Chinese didn't want to work with a dictator so they only took over the port and didn't even care to send PLAAN ships here to refuel. There was nothing beyond that.

If I buy a small building for a grocery store and 5-9 or more years after, Mr. Trump buys it and builds a Trump tower on it, doesn't mean I bought it for that purpose and "created the foundation of the Trump plaza" :rofl: that would be pretty dumb of me to even think that way.

If the Chinese were so appreciative of Mr. General's "efforts" in courting money, I am sure they would've "taken care of him", but nothing took place. And nothing really took place even in the government after the Dictator. When the people spoke and voted, the Chinese respected the people of Pakistan's vote (and so did the entire world). And decided to work with the real elected officials. Whether you like it or not. Your current government is the architect of a new and modern Pakistan. Like I said, if Mr. Dictator had built a few grocery stores even, to provide people with jobs, you'd see them open today with people working in them. He was more focused on stealing Pakistani tax payer's money and building his fortune overseas than doing something for the Pakistanis. Period. You can't change the reality and the history.

That's nice.Finally after a long wait we are on the right path.KSE is already doing well.
Keep it up Pakistan:yahoo::yahoo:..:pakistan::pakistan:
