Issa ( or Jesus ) & Quaid-e-Azam, it is again that double
birthday time for those who have a link between Pakistan
and Christianity in their lives.
Even though we all know that the coincidence is inexact for
the real birthdate of
Īsā ibn Maryām, PBUH
, is not December
25th where it was fixed by the Church for practical reasons,
it still makes for a unique and uniquely Pakistani circumstance.
As I personally value such impromptu happenstances as perks
of factual knowledge and sparks to multi-potent interrogations,
it is the perfect day for me to renew my wishes to my PDF friends
in the adaptation of Luke's 2:14 verse welcoming the prophet :
Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth, Peace to all Men of good will.
As is my custom, I'll wish all of you and my friends in particular
as well as the excellent crew of PDF without whom we'd not be
sharing this moment all the best life can offer for you and yours.
May we remind ourselves of the open and welcoming nature of
both the religious and political figures that this day celebrates and
show good will towards each other as well as towards God.
