That's because you have no religious diversity. Most Iranians are Shias. Try having the diversity of India first then make a comparison.
Because Iran is a Middle Eastern country, which has a Middle Eastern centric foreign policy and strategic interests. South Asia is pretty irrelevant to Iran in the big scheme of things.
Ordinary Iranian people OTHO dont care about Shi'a this and Sunni that. Ordinary Iranians dont discriminate or give a shit what religion other people are, only the state and its minions do.
Shi'as from Pakistan have nothing to do with Iran. To ordinary Iranians, they are just Pakistanis.
Our people are not like Indians and Pakistanis that bomb and kill each other over Hindu vs Muslim or Shi'a vs Sunni. There is none of that type of violence in Iranian society. Religion is not our sole identity. But yes, our regime is worse than yours when it comes to repression of citizens and their rights.
In Iran we have Shi'as, Sunnis, Sufis (many types), Christians (Armenian branch and Assyrian branch), Jews, Baha'is and Zoroastrians. Only the Baha'i religion is not recognized by the state. The rest are officially recognized and have reserved seats in the parliament. We are also an ethnicially and racially diverse country. That's because you have no religious diversity. Iran has had 'talks' with Pakistan over cross-border terrorism for several years now.Iran has been firing rockets into Pakistan for a long time which went unchecked so far. Iran should seek talks over any issues it has rather than seeking firefights.
Those people killed are Pakistanis, not Shias.
I get your point. Thanks. Could have done without making the last statement generalising Indians and Pakistanis in that manner but having read your previous statements about South Asians, I would rather ignore it than address it.
Like i said in an earlier post, Iran is a state, state's have interests. Nobody cares what religion your President is.

Regardless of facts, he has a point in what he said. As two biggest countries in South Asia, India and Pakistan should do more than just fighting with each other. Whatever you do with each other only harms the image of South Asia as a region. These two countries are not in a state of dominating anyone but in a state of fixing problems and working towards improving economy.I get your point. Thanks. Both my parents understand Farsi and we are not even Persian by descent! Maybe you understand Hindi but not Urdu...Can you understand Iqbal's poetry? Many Iranians canonly problem,Iranians dont understand urdu,,,while we do
