From the same report,

A recent study by Professor Anthony Heath and Professor Yaojun Li looked at
differences in labour market attainment for males belonging to different ethnic
groups during the period 1972 to 2005 (Li and Heath, 2008). The study assessed
ethnic penalties after controlling for measures of human capital, predominantly
education. Heath and Li found that black and Pakistani/Bangladeshi men became
more likely to be unemployed during the period. While Indian men’s labour market
status improved over the period, the situation of black Caribbean, black African
and Pakistani/Bangladeshi men worsened
(Li and Heath, 2008).

So we have two studies showing worse discrimination for Muslim (and black) names, and one which finds statistically similar discrimination.

Back to you...

 So if I find you another article/paper showing equal discrimination towards Indians and Pakistanis you ll concede this argument? What kind of logic is that?

And the other BBC thing you mentioned didn't have any Indian participant, so you can't say Pakistanis get discriminated more than Indians, based on that "study" at least.

Why do you doubt that BBC study?

In any case, what is there to concede? Nobody's denying that Indian migrants are successful in Britain. The only issue here is why that fact needs to be proved at the expense of other migrants.

I live in London and done a course in Economics, this is very true.

I seen Pak and Bangladeshi mothers, walk out of school with 5-6 kids all aged from 4 to 11. Its a total disgrace to have them all, if you cant afford to look after them.

My government should try to raise awareness of protective sex to the Pak and Bang women, as they dont have a education.

ps. I say Somalians have the bigger families in London, from what I seen then any other South Asian nation.

She is not an average Indian. Her family was politically active and on Indira Gandhi's invite list. She herself is a politician. It tells us what kind of political prejudice she was surrounded by while growing up.
But she is a British citizen.. whatever her background be.. I do remember folks like Asim and Agno arguing that Pakistani origin people who are naturalized American or British citizens when indulge in terror activities, Pakistan has no responsibility there since they are now American citizen. And now here is a politician in UK who has been a British national since 1947 and has never even been an Indian citizen and was born in an area which is now Pakistan and she is being accused of being prejudiced just because she is an Hindu.. Always back to religion.. are we??

I don't want to make assumptions about her religious agenda, but her political agenda -- as her family was on India Gandhi's invite list -- is pretty clear.

I highlighted the Hindu part to show her grandfather was selective in his philanthropy.

did you know that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and her daughter Benazir Bhutto were also in Indira Gandhi's invite list ?

You highlighted that her Grandfather was selective in philanthropy. How on Earth that affects her judgement??

Going by your logic, all the Australians should be criminals, and come to think of it, you live in Australia.....

I am not doubting the BBC study. All I am saying is, that since Indian migrants weren't part of the study, you can't use the study to show that British Pakistanis face more discrimination than British Indians.

In any case, what is there to concede? Nobody's denying that Indian migrants are successful in Britain. The only issue here is why that fact needs to be proved at the expense of other migrants.

Whats there to concede? I guess your argument that more Pakistanis/Bangladeshis are unemployed because they face racial discrimination in the job market? Because if we look at the study undertaken by Department of Work and Pension, Indians and Chinese face same amount of discrimination, if not more, than their Pakistani/Bangladeshi counterparts, yet their employment figures are higher.

Maybe there are other issues which are hampering the British Pakistanis/Bangladeshi from getting a job. And having one too many kids might be one of the reason.

I already said that her religion was not a factor -- merely pointed out the references to her background in the Mail Online article which suggests she grew up in a conservative Hindu, staunchly pro-India family background. Her mother was against her marriage to a non-Hindu.

Not quite sure about Bengiis but I don't know a SINGLE Pakistani who doesn't have 5-6 siblings. Not even making this up. My best freind has 3 sisters and 1 brother so in total 5 siblings. One of my other mates has 3 brothers and 2 sisters so in total 6 siblings.
This tends to happen in India in U.P./Bihar.

Whereas Indians in general have 2-3 kids. Even Bangladeshis to be honest. I don't know why Bangladeshis are on this. :undecided:

As I already mentioned, this study is at odds with other data, so the jury is still out. The BBC study didn't include Indians but found that even blacks were more accepted than Muslims. The earlier DWP study found less discrimination against Indians than other minorities.

Any Moft Khor no matter who they are should be dealth with. They are a burdon on the taxpayers. I dont think there is a shortage of these types of peolpe in the UK who are claiming benefit and also having businesses.

It's interesting that the Moft Khor identified are not Japanese, they are not Scandinavians or Russians - it is also interesting that Catholoic, or Jewish or Orthodox provide no succor for criminal behavior - and yet Shariah has been the refuge of these moft khor, what are we to make of this??

Thats very commendable of you. Have you gone up to these women and shared your opinion? Do you know where they are from by deduction? Why dont you go up to them and talk to them about protective sex then you can say you have done your bit mate?

Somalians arent part of this thread but thanks for sharing your exceptional wealth of knowledge
